TOMAS NOCHTEFF : 
When I heard Ghedalia a couple of years ago I couldn’t believe it, it took
me on a total trip and leave me speechless, all I could think was “this is my
favourite music. I felt that what I hear was someone with a unique and direct
connection with the ancient mysteries of music, working with the most current
and modern means and techniques. Like a Satyr singing and manipulating a
tape recorder, an Old Testament creature with a delay pedal. When I told Ryan
from Dias Records he encourage me to write to Ghedalia and even suggest I
should try to do collaboration with him. I never did it. What could I contribute?
What I could possibly say to him? When he died a couple of weeks ago I regret
it, as it happens. In Ghedalia’s music I found disparate things that I seek in
music. The brain stimulation of experimental and academic forms of
contemporary music, the mind altering states of the more ritualistic oriented
Industrial music, the purity of expression of all forms of folk music, with those
voices unrestrained of notions of tuning or production, the rawness of punk, the
otherworldly feeling of religious music. Ghedalia didn’t mix these things,
instead he efortless synthesises in his expressoion all these values at once. I’m
using this opportunity to pay tribute to his music by choosing tracks that I felt
that are somehow connected to Ghedalia’s art. I didn’t think much about it,
because the connection I have with all this music, as with Ghedalia’s, is utterly
visceral.

All going in the same direction, but how often do we break the silence? As if there were some common agreements amongst strangers to remain exactly that. Yet, for the duration of the ride we inhabit a shared space. On her record, Lucy examines those spaces, the in-betweens and the almost, the melancholia and promises that transit holds. Not really a search, but an ache for something else we hope to find even if it is just by moving the couch from one place to another.
