Hungry Music has the kind of waterproof musical aesthetic that not many labels with under twenty releases under their belt have. The output is bold and atmospheric at same time. Travels through misty soundscapes are just one of their trademarks. The french label established its sound through a close circle of friends - namely, Worakls, N’to & Joachim Pastor.

It’s now time to let some of the most powerful recent releases get re-interpreted through six exclusive remixes.

The Hungry gang took on each others work and also invited luminaries and friends of the label such as Oliver Koletzki, Einmusik and Boris Brejcha to provide a mix for the first in a series of upcoming remix EPs.

So the prolific Third Son (aka Joe Price) is back on Selador and not before time too! His second release for the label following last year’s widely acclaimed ’Darker Side Of The Moon’ EP consists of two original productions in ‘Trigonal’ and ‘Grey Matter’, both of which are big statements in their own right. 

The former is a syncopated slice of main room action, all growling synths and soaring arp dynamics whilst ‘Grey Matter’ manages to take the concept one step further still. Yet another peak time bullet. 

The release is then consolidated by outstanding contributions from both D-Nox & Beckers and Kris Davis on remix duties. The German duo return the favour (after Third Son’s work on their own recent Selador outing) with a typically assured melodic adventure. Kris meanwhile, dons his Techno trousers for a lesson in ultra cool electronic precision. Serious heads down business. 

This my friends, is a bone fide, beach body ready, summer essential.

PREMIERE: Third Son - Trigonal (D-Nox & Beckers Remix) [Selador]

Kellerkind steps up to the plate with Subzero, a slice of cavernous dub tech. Breathy vocals and sparse ethereal elements set a dreamy mood. Underlined by smooth piano chords, the vocal develops into a full fledged hymn that is both emotive and mesmerising. For his second take, the Swiss producer embarks on a techno tinged journey. Opting for distorted synths and a stomping bassline, he aptly crafts a near dungeon-like atmosphere only sweetened by a lush female vocal. Teaming up with Sven, they offer up Shakti Pan, a meeting point between tribal infused percussion and deep-set riffs. Hollowed out drums and bells chimes touch on chorus vocals and manage to create a highly immersive experience, rounding off the release on an uplifting note.

Diving deeper into the melodies world, we got the next release done by already remixing Matan Caspi's Paranara on Eleatics, that's Rauschhaus. This time is the EP time for Rauschhaus together with Peer Kusiv; the producer signed to Poesie Musik, Parquet Recordings, Crosswalk Records and making remixes for Jan Blomqvist and Milk & Sugar from the few. 'Triton' EP is a thoughtful story with the specific to both producers melodic approach, where we are also pleased greeting master Stan Kolev on the remix duty. Outta Limits labelowner and one of the most demanded and popular Progressive House artists of nowadays worldwide, Stan and his dynamic and powerful retouch of Triton is the right thing we are sure in. Three beautiful and steady cuts for your consideration, we are grateful for your support on these.
