luckily I hit record, as the session turned into a 30 minute dub techno improvisation.

Dub techno has become my favorite genre to produce lately. It's like a bottomless well of inspiration. Whether I'm going dawless and jamming out in the studio or piecing together samples from my archive, there's this constant excitement that never seems to fade.

Going dawless is like a musical adventure every time. The hands-on approach, the raw energy, it's unbeatable. You just let the machines do their thing, and magic happens. It's like a conversation between hardware and creativity.

And then there's the beauty of repurposing those old recordings. You know, those field recordings and samples you've collected over the years? They become building blocks for entirely new sonic landscapes. It's like painting with sound, and the possibilities are endless.

The best part? It never gets boring! There's always a new groove to discover, a fresh texture to explore. Dub techno keeps us on our toes, and that's what makes it such a fantastic genre to produce.

Dub Techno track from scratch, no talking. Helloween 2023 Session!

Hey friends, in this video, I create a fun dub techno track from scratch using the Analogfour for Chords the Syntakt for drums, and some fun FX block action.

It got longer than I thought turning more into a jam once the basic groove got me nodding along :D Such a fun and inspiring combo!One question though to you lovely folks: It seems the oscillators on the Syntakt are a bit off. Making a minor chord using two tracks didn't really work out that well. Have any of you experienced something similar?

Welcome to Episode 03 - straight from the Lock-Down!

This Set is inspired by the awesome and trend-setting sound of Berlin's "KaterMukke" Label.
I think this needs little introduction, as most of us know the sound and style very well.

A couple weeks ago, the sun began to be out more and we started to see just little under 20°C, while my girlfriend and I were stranded in our apartment during lock-down. She was in home-office for a few weeks already, while I just got into it and I needed a nice soundtrack for my work.

Every now and then I hop over to beatport to listen to very label specific music. Each label has  a distinct sound and style for their current releases and I was very curious what's happening in the scene right now.

So I checked out KaterMukke and noticed their #SaveTheDuck. A bit puzzled I found that a lot of clubs are doing fundraising to get through these troubling times. In this case, the "Duck" is - of course - the Sisyphos Club.

One reason the this set was inspired by their sound, but I think it's a great way to support the clubs we love so much that we almost live in them. In the same way we support friends and family however we can, let's keep our culture alive as well.
