Dub techno has become my favorite genre to produce lately. It's like a bottomless well of inspiration. Whether I'm going dawless and jamming out in the studio or piecing together samples from my archive, there's this constant excitement that never seems to fade.

Going dawless is like a musical adventure every time. The hands-on approach, the raw energy, it's unbeatable. You just let the machines do their thing, and magic happens. It's like a conversation between hardware and creativity.

And then there's the beauty of repurposing those old recordings. You know, those field recordings and samples you've collected over the years? They become building blocks for entirely new sonic landscapes. It's like painting with sound, and the possibilities are endless.

The best part? It never gets boring! There's always a new groove to discover, a fresh texture to explore. Dub techno keeps us on our toes, and that's what makes it such a fantastic genre to produce.

So, fellow dub techno enthusiasts, keep those beats flowing and those soundscapes evolving. It's a journey without an end, and I'm loving every step of it!

Welcome to the first episode of Intent Interviews! In this episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with Andreas Roet, an artist, content creator, and all-around nice guy. Andreas has been making music since the late 1990s and runs an excellent YouTube channel where he reveals the process of creating dub techno soundscapes, stabs, and tracks both in and out of the box.

During our conversation, we covered a variety of topics, including our shared love for old-school dub techno, the direction the genre is taking, and the experience of releasing educational content on YouTube. His own productions, including the concept-driven Prototype series, explore contrast and tension, turning subtle evolution into powerful movement.

This mix showcases a deep, atmospheric sound that still carries punch and drive. Built with patience and precision, it focuses on texture and flow rather than peaks, with a few unreleased tracks that hint at where his sound is heading next.
