This is a spin off of my debut single called "None of Us", featuring MANJA - an alternative indie pop trio from Bali - and Nikki Asvikarani - a violinist also from Bali. Moving from Jakarta to Bali, I am glad to find that I can still make so much collaboration with the amazing musicians I get to know in here. Being a touristic island, Bali is open to so many cultural and musical possibilities that I embrace while making new pieces of music.

This is a song about self discovery journey that each one of us needs to go through in order to find meaning in our lives. I hope you all enjoy your own ride as well!

"Riddles of A Marigold" is a cinematic instrumental track that underscores a story about uncovering a mystery. Everyday we encounter this kind of mystery but not all of them are meant to be solved. But that's what makes life so interesting and intriguing, a constant journey to solve our problems until we reach the finish line.

It's a spin off version of my previous track, "Riddles of A Marigold", featuring Reney Karamoy and Stella Gareth of SCALLER on electric guitars and synthesizers.

It's a song I wrote with Athron - a really good singer/songwriter from Australia, based in Bali - that talks about all of my mixed feelings on how the internet progresses rapidly with all the products being marketed heavily, especially with the whole web 3.0 concept, NFTs, cryptocurrency and the Metaverse. And what better way to describe a feeling against the tech than to use a vocoder to sing the lyrics?

This piece is a love letter to our unborn child that we lost last year in March 2021. I release this track also to celebrate our love for one another and to greet our next child - due to be born this April 2022.

"Falling" was originally composed as a movie score in 2018, but the scene it was written for did not make it in the editing room, so I decided to release it as an individual piece of music.

It underscores a feeling we have when we are falling in love, along with all the imagination in our heads and all the things we are committed to do to make the relationship work and the people we love happy.

This is a present for all of us who love to love ❤️

Showreel 2011-2013

"Falling Up" is a spin off of my instrumental track, "Falling", released in March, this time collaborating with singer-songwriter Kai Mata. The result is a heartfelt song that talks about trusting the person we love.

While "Falling" was written as a love letter to my newborn child, then "Falling Up" takes the feeling of love and carries it forward between two people in love, regardless of their gender or sexual orientation.

Although I frequently co-write, I still feel glad whenever I get to work with a co-writer that breathes new life and new perspective on my works, as if it turns into something that is simultaneously new and familiar. When Kai Mata listened to "Falling", she wanted to echo the playfulness in my instrumental composition, which propelled her to write lyrics that depicted falling in ways that are surreal. This led her to wanting the lyrics and melody to sound as if she is falling upwards. "Effervescence was the quality I aimed at creating, like the bubbles that rise in a freshly opened bottle of soda.  That’s how the track felt to me, and I ran with it," she explains.

It's amazing how similar the pattern inside our body is to that of the universe. Microcosm and macrocosm. Therefore to seek truth is to find it within ourselves.

“The Hard Road” was initially written to underscore a climactic moment in the film “Terbang Menembus Langit” (2018) directed by Fajar Nugros. Receiving outstanding reviews, the movie was released theatrically and also enjoyed a festival circuit run.
Realizing its potential, Andreas decided to rework this special piece of music, inviting Billy Aryo to perform an emotive cello solo for the new studio recording. This iconic cellist was no stranger to Andreas, featuring in many of Andreas’ projects, including his third single “Riddles of a Marigold” released last January.
“To me, this piece of music represents my father’s hard struggle in life to provide for our family and to ensure both me and my brother’s high education”, said Andreas about this track. “My father was taking care of my mother who was hospitalized for a stroke, while also juggling between his work and the pressures of the financial and political crisis of 1998. Reminiscing this chapter of my life left me not only with tears but also with a notion that I can also give my best for my own family”.
The story of life is the story of love and of struggle. “The Hard Road” encompasses both, while making good use of film score language to deliver the storytelling emotionally.
Andreas is working in collaboration with Anatman Pictures on "The Hard Road" Music Video, depicting the reality of large scale human conflict between countries and its consequences on the human race. This music video is another reinterpretation on the theme by Bertold Gerry (director, editor) and Mahatma Putra (producer), engaging the audience to rethink what it means to be fellow humans.

At the very moment I listened to the song, I had my own dancey feel to it, and I couldn't resist the urge to put a spin on it. This serves as my salutation for her first time singing the song she wrote on a released recording, also as a tribute to Tohpati that I really admire.

Jakarta is indeed a very unique city with a population of 9.5 millions, but at the same time loneliness becomes something Jakartans have in common. Everybody wants to feel connected to everything. Maudy wrote so eloquently about a longing to connect to the inner self, while I am interested in expanding the spirit of the song to a more extroverted manner with the music.

"I've been a fan of Gerald Situmorang long before I listened to Barasuara's debut album. Gerald is the kind of musician who will never stop producing great pieces of music, regardless the genre. I've been really lucky to be involved in Sketsa's sophomore album, Different Seasons, and also performed with them in various cities and festivals.

I really think that what makes his music so touching is his own personality. Gerald's music reflects the person inside: passionate, warm, to the point, melancholy and really articulate. I don't think there is any way for me to depict my musical relationship with Gerald, other than doing a proper rearrangement cover song of his rock superband, Barasuara. Enjoy!"

There is always a hint of both melancholy and joy in Gerald's debut solo album, "Solitude", and the most interesting tracks for us are these two: "Raining Flower" serves really good as a sweet prelude to the sadness and loneliness of loss in "Gone". One cannot help but to wonder what kind of experience Gerald has been through to be able to write such a really bittersweet piece of music.

Working on these two songs being woven into one piece of music enables us to tell a further story of life being created and ended. Isn't it a cycle we are all being imprisoned into? Telling a story of life is never an easy task for anyone, but surely it is a really enjoyable one, especially when life is depicted this way through Gerald's music.

We aspire to tell these kinds of stories to as many people as possible, and we hope that this joy is embraceable for you as well as it is for us :)

I wrote orchestral arrangement for this folksong from Jambi, Sumatera, Indonesia. I also happened to play the accordion for this recording. The lyric tells us story about someone who missed his loved one back at his hometown. Batanghari is also the longest river in that region.

There is a lot to be said about our infatuation to someone special. There is longing and there is hope and also a bit of insecurity in the ingredients of our feeling when we have that.

Thomas Tommy Pratomo did a really nice way of expressing this, and somehow we are intrigued to make it even more special by incorporating the ensemble and tweaking the rhythm section to make it even more funky. Tommy said that this new arrangement is possibly how it should sound when one is able to move on from the infatuation: being able to smile at something romantic in the past but not holding it on too long.

after getting through this year, this is what I really feel right now, that home is really where your heart is. i just composed this yesterday and i really had this huge urge to make it done a.s.a.p., so i just played it all by myself and did the arrangements and producing. it's a really nice track to showcase what i have learned on mixing also.

Home is Where the Heart is (instrumental)

I wrote this song as a soundtrack to a short movie called "Senandung Bumi" (Song for the Earth). Mikha's character sang this song and recorded it to the Youtube in the opening scene. I really enjoyed working with her, she was so quick to learn and was one of the most collaborative person I worked with!

I worked on the lyrics with Kamila Andinisari, the director, and then I produced the music in my studio on October 2012. And here's the link to the movie: http://bit.ly/ZrsUaT
