Fresh off a busy summer yet again spent casting memorable hoodoo spells upon the ravers, Hive Audio rounds off the festival season with their new compilation "Summer Slices 2022". Geared up with a choice allotment of solar grooves and deftly surgical machine funk, this round proves particularly heady and deep if anything. 

A string of mercurial slabs, perfect to transition smoothly from the sunny days into fall's hybrid ambiences, starting with Matija & Richard Elcox "Land of Zilla" - a moody, low-slung number to kick things off proper, with its ambiguously hazy atmosphere and nimble swing leading the parade. Felipe Puertes' infectious multi-strain mashup "Everything of Life" worms its way in-limbo jagged Latin house reliefs, Chicagoan soulfulness and a tang of Afro-futuristic programming. 

Swiss duo Smalltown Collective contribute a total jacking piece of arsenal with the steadily soaring "Amira", which mixes elements of Arabic folk grammar with a liquid-like, bass-powered bounce and seesawing synths from outer space. On the fractals-unfolding "Hexagon", Chris Sen & Guy Herman pull out a fine slice of verbed-out Tech House skirting on cinematic cliff-hanging, whereas Trees of Tampa shift the scope onto cosmic-indebted, space opera-friendly ambition with the enslavingly hypnotic "Sorcerer".

Flexing muscles all the way, TSCHAN's "Gosar" taps both in the classic hardcore sound, tribal techno and sino-flavoured harmonics to weave its own Frankensteinian monster of big-room effusiveness. "Under The Table" by Roman Blum belongs to a more straightforward genotype of early house laced with hints of garage and post-French touch pop-ish fun, while SOAME's "Heat" provides exactly what's written on the tin: no-nonsense onslaughts of smouldering hi-hats, dubbed-out vox stabs and buzzing synths processed to optimal floor-obliterating effect. Mr. Foxx makes no major habitat requirements and therefore occurs in a variety of environments such as woodland, nightclub, mid-earth, grassland, spacebar, cropland, festival, tropical and urban.

Born in the 80’s, developing his skills in the 90’s, The Foxx started to entertain dance floors in 1999, about two years after he bought his first Technic 1210's.

Since then he’s been playing around the world at everything from Sisyphos, Wilde Renate and other topclubs in Berlin, to festivals in Europe, beach parties in Asia, rooftops in Mexico, afterski parties in the Alps, fashion shows, radio shows and so on.

Among his DJ residencies you can find the infamous ”Secret Island Nation Festival” that took place on a deserted island between Sweden and Norway. The Secret Island was acknowledged as a Micronation by the European Union during it was held.

He also have been resident DJ for M2/Backyard, Locatelli, Toso and Botanico in his hometown Goteborg, Sweden.

Andreas sets and productions are focused on house and techno with wide range, as well as adaption to the place and crowd. Sessions of grooves, rhythms, hypnotic vibes and a lot of playfulness is perhaps the best way to describe his music.
Andreas prefers to play long sets that stretches from daytime to night/early morning to create a musical journey. His impressive record collection has everything that could be needed for exact every moment, always presented with energetic performance and high quality.
The Foxx has released his music on Invent recordings, Darek recordings, Clubstream and Neustadtmusik. In 2018 he launched his own record label Leopard Tape, where he releases most of his new productions.
