It’s safe to say that 2013 has been the biggest year in Gregor Tresher’s career so far. Remixing Depeche Mode & Moby, releasing his 4th full length album and completing another tour around the globe spanning over more than 8 months, there is no stopping in sight for the man. So, to end the year in style, Gregor and Break New Soil set to unleash another track that is destined to become a highlight in the label’s history. For the title track of Gregor’s album "Nightcolors", no one else than French legend Laurent Garnier handed in one of his rare remix works - and boy, did he deliver!

Gregor says: "Laurent has always been one of my absolute favorite DJs and musicians. I can still remember when I saw him playing for the first time at Dorian Gray in Frankfurt in 1993. I was standing next to the booth watching him work his magic, and I remember it was one of the key moments why I wanted to become a DJ myself. So now - to get one of my own tracks remixed by him is really a dream coming true for me and I think the result speaks for itself: Laurent is on top of his game, more than ever!"

therapy: session #3 - 'Daydream' by Subsets

John Digweed’s Bedrock label is focused on releasing exceptional, forward-thinking electronic music, constantly working with some of the world’s finest artists, whose musical palettes are intensely inspired and musically diverse. Quivver (aka John Graham) is one such true musical innovator, renowned as being one of the scene’s most essential creators since the early 1990’s. Here, he once again returns to Bedrock with his “Takin’ Over EP”, showcasing three stunning new creations. 

“With Takin’ Over I wanted to do something for the summer with a slightly old school flavour. It’s the most melodic track I’ve written in a while and I specifically had Ibiza’s beaches in mind in the studio. I wanted it to be a track that would sound good pre-club, post-club and in a club – so the chord stabs are soft and the acid riffs sparse and echoed so it has a laid back feel and I layered some ambient noise in the background so it sounds a bit like it was recorded live at some outdoor beach club somewhere…” – Quivver

The extraordinarily evocative title track is a truly beautiful musical master-class, with a timeless quality that immediately sets this EP apart from so much of today’s disposable mass music production line. “Lose Your Way” ups the energy levels and darkness factor, its filmic qualities taking things into a very different audio-visual realm. In yet more textural contrast, “Time Goes By” displays a deeply euphoric attitude that is uplifting, intelligent and magical. There can be no doubt that Quivver remains one of the world’s standout electronic artists in 2015.

John Graham (Quivver) started his production career in the early 1990’s, and has been a household name within the electronic music scene ever since, operating under various monikers, each representing a different shade of his incredibly broad, eclectic production palette. Not only a worldwide renowned DJ/Producer, as a vocalist, John has collaborated and written electrifying songs for the likes of Hybrid, Planet Funk and also Darren Emerson’s The Low Highs. His new rock/electronic album "Cold Sun" has also just been released.

Teeming with flair and charm, two redoubtable heavyweights of the scene - rave pioneer Sasha and house music star Kölsch - have come together to release a sun-drenched single titled 'The Lights'. It is the third official release on Kölsch's IPSO imprint and follows two previous collaborative releases from the Danish producer with Michael Mayer and Tiga.

Having already gained support from Pete Tong on his BBC Radio 1 program, 'The Lights' is an expertly crafted progressive track that allows each producer's signature style to shine through with true majesty and delight.

Since its inception in 2016, Alan Fitzpatrick has clearly started something with his imprint We Are The Brave – the selection of artists who have released on the label in the last 2 years shows his dedication to giving a home to the best underground music around for his loyal and dedicated fans. Club anthems come to mind, with tracks like Alan’s ‘We Do What We Want’, Gary Becks ‘Just One More’ and the recent smash hit ‘Poison’ from Croydon’s finest - Skream. 

Portsmouth local and label mainstay Reset Robot has released 2 EP’s on the label back in 2018, and this June he brings us his second highly anticipated LP of his career - ‘Spiral Of Silence’. The release is a landmark one for the label, being the first album for We Are The Brave. 

“With we are the brave approaching its third year of existence. It was inevitable that we would soon be approaching album territory. Personally, I can’t think of anyone better to kick off this milestone event than Reset Robot” – says Alan 

As with his first album, 2014s ‘Let Your Soul Outside’ on Truesoul, Reset Robot has allowed himself the creative freedom to paint outside of the rigid lines of club music, meaning alongside the dance floor bombs such as ‘Ramp’, ‘Meadow’, ‘Humankind’, and ‘Spiral of Silence’ there are delicate downtempo gems such as ‘Denial’, the sinister movie soundtrack of ‘Ana Strings’ and the epicness of the Nils Frahm vs M83 analogue love match ‘Freq’. 

 “The LP links up with my new Live Set very nicely. The tracks can be broken down easily and incorporated into my set because a lot of the drums and synths are from the Machinedrum and Sub 37. Patterns and patches have been saved along the way, so I can jump straight into my songs in a live environment” adds Dave when speaking about his tour after the LP.



Indeed, there is more than one reference to Reset Robots’ roots with the inclusion of a few old skool breaks tracks; ‘Orly’ which could have easily been lifted from Moving Shadows back catalogue. “His talents in the studio are far superior than most electronic music producers out there” says Alan.

‘Are You Ready’ features a nod to the vocal treatment of mysterious post dubstepper, Burial, and closing track, ‘Believer’ drenched in Detroit Electro folk lore with a UK twist.

“This album really showcases his talent and I think it provides a great blend between club bangers and headphone listening alike. We Are The Brave are extremely proud to present this body of work to the world” – adds Alan.

'Yoshitoshi Celebrates 25 Years with Three Genre-Focused Compilations : House, Techno, Melodic House.

For the Melodic House edition of Yoshitoshi 25, we’ve focused on the tracks that were either too proggy for house or too melodic for techno. Many house historians would claim that this sound has been Yoshitoshi’s bread and butter throughout the years, and this final entry into the Yoshitoshi 25 compilation series demonstrates exactly why. As with the other two compilations, we’ve selected a handful of freshly remastered, stone-cold classics such as PQM’s “You Are Sleeping (Luke Chable Mix),” Valentino’s “Flying,” and Morel’s “True (The F****t Is You - Deep Dish Remix),” and mixed them up with the most memorable modern records from Yoshitoshi’s catalogue like OC & Verde’s “Indica,” Khainz’s “Collider,” and Red Axes’ remix of Dino Lenny’s “I Feel Stereo.” Of course the package wouldn’t be complete without some new remixes, so Sharam and Armonica have delivered some beautifully-crafted reworks of Yoshitoshi classics. Sharam takes on Luzon’s mega-classic “The Baguio Track,” turning the tune into a dark roller that has been the talk of his recent Burning Man sets. Armonica crafted an amazing remix of Anarcrusan’s “In My Mind” that winds gracefully between delicate, dreamy riffs and bouncy, bass-driven breakdowns. The final package is a perfect way to end the Yoshitoshi 25 series, giving both new listeners and longtime fans of the label an expansive view of the label’s legacy. In his 2021 remix of Dosem’s ‘Eternal Summer', Marsh expands on the classic piano flavour of the original with his signature bass and an acid-like lead, taking the track down a darker path well-suited for the club dancefloor.

‘Eternal Summer’ was the third single off Dosem’s 'Dream Decoder’. Primarily composed during his long stays in Tokyo, a city which he believes to be "a beautiful visual metaphor between reality and the world of dreams", the album reflects the bustling metropolis from which it was inspired, resulting in a futuristic, colourful, and distinct sound.
