Next up on Industry Standard we welcome a new group of artists hailing from Detroit, Outr Drive featuring vocalist Steffanie Christi’an. We don’t wish to give away too much info on who is behind this new project at the moment but be rest assured there’s some quality artistes involved, featuring both electronic producers and live musicians. Steffanie is an artist many may have heard of though her work with the legendary Inner City.

Their first outing sees Outr Drive deliver a low slung, soul drenched, deep house track with a live bass line and lush keys that set the tones of a track for a wonderful vocal from Steffanie. The song is both emotive and seductive and shows off her amazing vocal range. The pack also features an instrumental for the dubby heads out there.

We really love this record and are proud to have Outr Drive & Steffanie working with us at Industry Standard. This track will be a sure-fire hit over the summer months and beyond, and most likely a future classic!

Regulars will be very happy to learn that Tessellate are now launching a label, featuring artists and friends they have booked and met over the years.

Their first 12" comes courtesy of Firmin, a new alias of one of the Tessellate regulars - we'll leave it to you to work out who on earth that might be! 'Energetic Solution' is a brilliant debut release for the label, with a pair of originals backed by Brassica and Moscoman remixes. We're premiering 'La Selva', a beautiful sunrise-ready deep house cut which unfurls gracefully over the course of its 8 minutes.

"Hold Me Down" is perfect for this time of year, with an almost melancholy feel that conjures visuals of snow-covered streets and cities that fall silent under a thick layer of winter. It's both peaceful and serene, while still backed by a danceable beat. The original mix, clocking in at six minutes, pulls the listener into a dreamlike soundscape, laden with otherworldly synths and alluring vocals from Doyle.
