CLR is back with release number 83 and has something very special in store this time. Monoloc´s latest effort offers a challenging mixture of various electronic music genres. Apart from the original version and the Monoloc Edit, which occupy the A side of the vinyl, two highly respected producers have contributed remixes to this project, making it an impressive assembly of potential A sides.

Monoloc´s original version underlines the capacity of the Berlin based producer, to create unorthodox, suspenseful Techno with a very personal handwriting. Once more the beat structure, treatment of vocal bits, the selection of sounds and the overall arrangement and production style make his productions easily recognizable and truly unique. His additional edit surprises with a mesmerizing and enchanting sequence, which could easily become one of those laid back after hour sunrise classics. The two versions alone would make a dignified EP already, but then there are the remixes by Roman Lindau and Rødhåd, which turn this release into one of the most diversified CLR releases ever. While Roman Lindau takes a House oriented direction and excellently works out the potential of the track on the more uplifting side of the musical spectrum, Berghain resident Rødhåd explores the dark side of Monoloc´s composition and delivers a haunting Techno version full of well balanced bass, phasing sequences and an irresistible, almost tribal rhythm structure.

CLR083 is one of those releases that characterises the direction the label has taken over the last years and is equally interesting to DJs from all kinds of stylistic branches of the scene. It´s available on vinyl as well as digitally and will surely grace countless record bags and playlists all over the world.

Timmo returns to Terminal M to release his highly anticipated debut album ‘Starlight’ this September. 
 
Since making his debut in 2008, Bulgarian talent Valeri Ivanov, aka Timmo, has swiftly become a name of note within the current techno landscape following with a string of releases via some of the biggest labels in the scene, from Adam Beyer’s Drumcode and of course Monika Kruse’s Terminal M imprint. Having emerged as a core figure for the label following his collaboration ‘Violet’ with Kruse back in May, and leading straight on from his ‘Starlight’ EP which featured three tracks from the extensive body of work in early June, the imprint will now welcome the arrival of his eleven-track LP ‘Starlight’, featuring a combination of club-focused tracks alongside more emotive soundscapes. 
 
“’Starlight’ is my debut album, and I’m very happy it’s going to be out on Monika Kruse’s Terminal M. It took me more than a year to finish and create it as an experience, the way I felt it should be. Starting with more melodic tracks, going through more energetic and electric ones and finishing off with some acid. 
 
All 11 songs have been recorded in my home studio in Sofia, using a variety of synths and modules, some dating back to the early 80s like the Roland Juno 60, and some being brand new or improved versions of classic synthesizers such as the Sequential Prophet 6.” - Timmo 
 
Opening via the ominous ‘Leaving Earth’ and flowing straight into the action via the acid laced ‘New Beginning’, the eleven-track project swiftly takes its form as a balance of driving, uncompromising productions accented by subtle interludes and moments  of  space.  Take  for  example  the  bubbling  ‘Solar’  and  the  warping  ‘Belle  Epoque’,  which  keep  the  focus  on oscillating synths and regimented percussion, whilst title cut ‘Starlight’ takes control and ups the energy via soaring lead synths and frenzied electrics. 
 
Next up, ‘Sonic Voyage’ reveals yet another twisting journey as Timmo merges ever-evolving leads with restrained vocal snippets, whilst ‘Vortex’ and ‘Spacefreaks’ add further energy via a medley of hefty kicks and menacing bass patterns throughout. Entering into the final three cuts, ‘Rhythm X’ brings forth further infectious 303-lines, tripped out vocal hooks and slick hats to head further into the peak time, whilst the darker ‘Connect’ throws its hat into the mix via a combination of commanding female vocals and choppy bass licks, before arriving at closing track ‘Interspace’ which lowers the tempo and switches the emphasis towards bright synth melodies and calming breaks featuring rich soundscapes to punctuate the project in emphatic fashion. 
 
Channeling main room sonics whilst intertwining rich melodies and softer tones throughout, ‘Starlight’ sees the unveiling of Timmo’s most complete body of work as he continues his ascent as one of his genres leading talents via the ever-impressing Terminal M.

Handsdown & Leigh Boy - Dust Snake

Based in the Romanian capital of Bucharest - one of the world's main crossroads of Underground Electronica, Kiddo's take on Electronic music in general is that it represents a vast and complex journey.

One in which somebody can find himself. It requires some of the most open and out of the box minds, in order for it to be properly understood and felt.

What gives Kiddo the right to speak freely about this and to be taken seriously into consideration as a valid opinion, is a 20 years experience in listening, searching, selecting and finding the best possible electronic tracks which are the goldnuggets of electronica, ranging from low beat-rate genres such as Lo-Fi, Lounge, Budha Bar etc, to the highest beat rate genres such as Trance (in its glory days), Techno in all of it's forms and Hard-Core (taking as a reference point the legendary German compilations Schranz Total from the 2000's) and anything in between. Dub, House, Tech-House, Deep-House, Electro, DnB, Detroit Techno & the Berlin counterpart, and last but not least, the eclectic and classy sound of the formerly named genre "REM" (Romanian Electronic Music), now named officially Ro-Minimal, including Experimental Electronic Music.

Almost nothing has escaped the mind and ears of Kiddo in terms of Electronica. He has dedicated himself throughout life in promoting quality Underground Electronic Music as a whole, in front of anyone who in a short-minded thinking regarded the genre as being "repetitive and boring", by firmly insisting that they are simply missing the point and lack the necessary patience in finding the right tracks that "go with the flow", together with finding beauty in a type of music that Kiddo considers to be the only real music in this world.

This while giving credit and respect where it's due in regards to any top class band and singer from the mainstream stage, who has shown mastery in the art of composing and creating music through classical instruments and vocal. Nevertheless, given the complex train of thought and technical skills necessary for someone to engage in Electronic Music, Kiddo divides music generally in 2 categories: Electronic Music and the rest.

All of the above being stated by always remaining into the "Underground" spectrum, which many have tried to dilute and take advantage of for their own financial gain together with DJs and producers from the past who left the "Underground Community", that is NOT defined by events and gigs happening today at large scales with big audiences.

For the time being, Kiddo is not promoting himself as a DJ\Producer of any sort, and this BIO will be updated once this situation changes.
