Hatikvah is the national anthem of the State of Israel. Part of 19th-century Jewish poetry, the theme of the Romantic composition reflects the 2,000-year-old desire of the Jewish people to return to the Land of Israel in order to reclaim it as a free and sovereign nation-state. The piece's lyrics are adapted from a work by Naftali Herz Imber, a Jewish poet from Złoczów, Austrian Galicia. Imber wrote the first version of the poem in 1877, when he was hosted by a Jewish scholar in Iași, Romania.

Israel National Anthem - Hatikvah (Synthesizer Cover)

The "State Anthem of the Russian Federation" is the national anthem of Russia. It uses the same melody as the "State Anthem of the Soviet Union", composed by Alexander Alexandrov, and new lyrics by Sergey Mikhalkov, who had collaborated with Gabriel El-Registan on the original anthem. From 1944, that earliest version replaced "The Internationale" as a new, more Soviet-centric and Russia-centric Soviet anthem. The same melody, but without any lyrics, was used after 1956. A second version of the lyrics was written by Mikhalkov in 1970 and adopted in 1977, placing less emphasis on World War II and more on the victory of communism, and without mentioning Joseph Stalin by name.

The Russian SFSR was the only constituent republic of the Soviet Union without its own regional anthem, instead using the National Anthem of the Soviet Union. The lyric-free "Patrioticheskaya Pesnya", composed by Mikhail Glinka, was officially adopted in 1990 by the Supreme Soviet of Russia, and confirmed in 1993, after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, by the President of the Russian Federation, Boris Yeltsin. This anthem proved to be unpopular with the Russian public and with many politicians and public figures, because of its tune and lack of lyrics, and consequently its inability to inspire Russian athletes during international competitions. The government sponsored contests to create lyrics for the unpopular anthem, but none of the entries were adopted.

The "Deutschlandlied", officially titled "Das Lied der Deutschen" has been the national anthem of Germany either wholly or in part since 1922, except for a seven-year gap following World War II in West Germany. In East Germany, the national anthem was "Auferstanden aus Ruinen" ("Risen from Ruins") between 1949 and 1990.

Since World War II and the fall of Nazi Germany, only the third stanza has been used as the national anthem. Its phrase "Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit" ("Unity and Justice and Freedom") is considered the unofficial national motto of Germany and is inscribed on modern German Army belt buckles and the rims of some German coins.

The music is the hymn "Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser", written in 1797 by the Austrian composer Joseph Haydn as an anthem for the birthday of Francis II, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire and later of Austria. In 1841, the German linguist and poet August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben wrote the lyrics of "Das Lied der Deutschen" as a new text for that music, counterposing the national unification of Germany to the eulogy of a monarch: lyrics that were considered revolutionary at the time.

The "Deutschlandlied" was adopted as the national anthem of Germany in 1922, during the Weimar Republic, to which all three stanzas were used. West Germany retained it as its official national anthem in 1952, with only the third stanza sung on official occasions. After German reunification in 1990, in 1991 only the third stanza was reconfirmed as the national anthem. It is discouraged, although not illegal, to perform the first stanza (or to some degree, the second), due to association with the Nazi regime.

Die Eisenfaust am Lanzenschaft (Song of the Knights of the Order) is a German song from 1921, the lyrics of which come from Willi Nufer. French National Anthem - La Marseillaise (Synthesizer cover)

Il Canto degli Italiani, also known as Fratelli d'Italia and Inno di Mameli is the national anthem of Italy.
The lyrics were written by Goffredo Mameli in Genoa in 1847, trying to create a patriotic song for all Italians who were striving for unification. After a little more than two months, the music for Mameli's text was composed by Michele Novaro.
However, it will be a long time before "Inno di Mameli", as it is named after its writer, becomes the national anthem of Italy. At the time of the creation of the Italian state and until the fascists came to power, the official anthem of Italy was the former anthem of the Savoy dynasty and the Kingdom of Sardinia, "Marcia Reale" (Royal March), to which the fascist anthem "Giovinezza" (Youth) was added when Benito Mussolini came to power. ).

Italian National Anthem - Il Canto Degli Italiani (Synthesizer Cover)

Mazurek Dąbrowskiego is the Polish national anthem, written in 1797 by Józef Wybicki. It is named after the Polish military commander Jan Henryk Dąbrowski.
The song was initially called "Song of the Polish Legions in Italy" ("Pieśń Legionów Polskich we Włoszech"), and was also known as "Poland will never die", according to the opening lines "Jeszcze Polska nie zginęła". These words are often misquoted as the unofficial Polish national motto. The song gained importance and became one of the most popular anthems during the student uprising of 1830 and the January uprising of 1863. During the People's Spring of 1848, it became known throughout Europe as a revolutionary anthem in Berlin, Vienna, Prague and Paris. This prompted the Slovak poet Samuel Tomášik to write the hymn Hey, Slavs, based on the melody of Dąbrowski's Mazurek, which was later accepted by the First Congress of the All-Slavic Movement in Prague as the All-Slavic Anthem. Kde domov můj (Where is my home) has been the national anthem of the Czech Republic since 1993.

The words of the anthem come from the play "Fidlovačka aneb náčky hněv a náčky rvačka" written by Josef Kajetán Tyl. This theatrical piece was first performed in Prague on December 21, 1834. The music was written by František Škroup. The theater work has several parts, but only the first stanza is taken as the anthem.

During Czechoslovakia, the national anthem consisted of two parts. The first part was the current Czech national anthem and the second part was the national anthem of Slovakia (Nad Tatrou sa blýska). The national anthem was performed without a break.

Czech National Anthem - Kde Domov Muj (Synthesizer Cover)

Imnos eis tin Eleftherian (Greek: Ύμνος εις την Ελευθερίαν, Hymn to Freedom) is the national anthem of Greece and Cyprus.

Dionýsios Solomós wrote a patriotic poem of 158 stanzas in 1823, and the first two stanzas became the official Greek anthem in 1865. The music for the anthem was composed in the same year by Nikolaos Mantzaros. Two versions were written: a long one for performing the whole song and a shorter one for only the first two stanzas.

Cyprus adopted the anthem in 1960. According to the constitution, this anthem is performed in the presence of the president of the Greek Cypriots, and the Turkish anthem is performed in the presence of the vice-president, a Turkish Cypriot. Cyprus stopped using the Turkish national anthem because of the civil war in 1963.

The Anthem of Freedom was also the Greek Royal Anthem (since 1864).

This anthem is performed at every closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in honor of Greece as the cradle of the modern Olympics.

Deșteaptă-te, române ("Wake up, Romanians") is the Romanian national anthem.

The song was written by Andrei Mureșanu and set to music by Gheorghe Ucenescu. It was published in 1848, during the revolution, under the title "Echo" ("Un răsunet"). It was sung for the first time in the city of Brașov in the same year, and was immediately accepted as the anthem of the revolution, which is why it got its current name.

National Anthem Day is celebrated in Romania on June 29. This song was also the national anthem of Moldova for a while, but in 1994 it was replaced by the current Limba noastră. The song has 11 stanzas, but at public performances only the 1st, 4th and 2nd stanzas (in that order) are usually sung.

Romanian National Anthem - Deșteaptă-te, române (Synthesizer Cover)

Lijepa naša domovino (often just Lijepa naša), the anthem of the Republic of Croatia since 1991. Her opening words are a frequent metonym for Croatia (Liepa Naša).

It is counted among the few peaceful hymns because it glorifies the beauty of the homeland, and does not call for struggle or resistance like marching hymns (eg the Marseillaise).

The Zagreb lawyer Antun Mihanović, one of the poets of the Croatian national revival, wrote the patriotic poem Croatian Homeland, which became the basis of today's national anthem – the first, second, penultimate and last stanzas were taken from the 14 stanzas. The Croatian Homeland was published on March 14, 1835, on the cover page of the tenth issue of the literary newspaper Danica, which was the bearer of the literary revival at the time.

Croatian National Anthem - Lijepa naša domovino (Synthesizer Cover)

Bože pravde (God of Justice) is the anthem of the Republic of Serbia. The music was composed by Davorin Jenko, and the text was written by Jovan Đorđević in 1872. The original lyrics were written for the theater play "Mark's Saber", which premiered that same year in honor of Prince Milan Obrenović's coming of age.

God of Justice was originally a solemn song that became the anthem of the Principality of Serbia. With the coronation of Milan Obrenović as king in 1882, Serbia became an independent kingdom and the Serbian king was glorified in poetry. Serbian National Anthem - Bože pravde (Synthesizer Cover)

The National Anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina, sometimes called the Intermezzo, is the national anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Dušan Šestić composed the music. In the middle of 1998, the Office of the High Representative announced a public competition for the national anthem. About 80 works were received, and the expert commission recommended three works to the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On February 10, 1999, the House of Representatives decided that Intermeco would be the new anthem, but the House of Peoples did not adopt a law with the same text. This provoked the reaction of the then High Representative Carlos Westendorp: On June 25, 1999, he passed the Law on the National Anthem with the Bonn powers. The law prescribes the music, not the text. It was published in the Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina (No. 19/01) four days later, and its official application began on July 7.

This replaced the anthem "You are the only one" which was unofficially used at occasions such as football matches. The alleged exclusion of mention of Croats and Serbs in the text is cited as the reason, although the text itself does not mention any people from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
