In terms of a century the number 25 is a reason to celebrate. 25 releases on an established techno label usually counts no less. Over the past ten years VAULT SERIES’ consistent musical output of timeless releases made the Berliner label a key player of the techno community worldwide. Make no mistake, VAULT SERIES is authentic, truly underground and stands for reliable techno from the german capital. Only very few labels have been able to generate such stabil sales and growing credibility without a website or any social media up to this day.

For the VAULT SERIES 25.0 label owner SUBJECTED collaborated with ANDREJKO and the two defined nothing less but a milestone for the festive occasion. The EP is powerful, refreshingly versatile and certainly not random. The four tracks differ in mood, tone and composition and have been constructed thoughtfully. From solid 4/4-utilities, a 909 excursion to a straight forward raver, the record has everything you could expect from a well rounded EP. A piece between stability and impulses in shifting times, - in any case one for a selected techno vinyl collection.

Nicht nur im Hinblick auf ein Jahrhundert ist die 25 ein Grund zum Feiern. Gleiches gilt für das 25. Release eines Plattenlabels. Auch wenn VAULT SERIES noch keine 25 Jahre alt ist, sind es immerhin schon fast zehn. Der konstante musikalische Output und die zeitlosen Veröffentlichungen haben VAULT SERIES zu einem festen Bestandteil der Techno-Gemeinde und deren Key-Player werden lassen. Guten Gewissens kann man von einem authentischen Berliner Underground Techno-Label sprechen, das es versteht ohne Webseite oder Social Media kontinuierlich Verkäufe und Respekt zu sichern.

Mit der VAULT SERIES 025 ist es Labelchef SUBJECTED in Kollaboration mit ANDREJKO gelungen einen angemessenen Meilenstein zu definieren. Die EP ist kraftvoll, ebenso zeitlos wie vorangegangene Veröffentlichungen und erfrischend vielseitig. Alle vier Stücke der Platte unterscheiden sich in Stimmung, Ton und Komposition. Ein Werk zwischen Stabilität und Zeitenwende, auf jeden Fall eines, dass in jede gut sortierte Vinyl-Sammlung gehört.

Opener 'Eating' is bleak, futurist, Terminator techno with unrelenting drums that hit hard each and every time. Subtle rising synths add to the tension while rugged loops keep you locked to the floor. The excellent 'With' is less harsh and hard but just as perfectly distilled, with warmer rubber kicks rolling forwards at a real pace as eerie synth motifs survey a dystopian urban landscape. Closer 'Knives' shows another side again to this innovative artist as it pairs sci-fi pads with supple techno rhythms. Taking you on a trip to the outer edges of our galaxy, it has a rising sense of tension that is utterly enthralling.

It’s all about the vibe, the energy, the feeling. There are only a handful of DJs in Berlin who completely bend on this trinity. Growing up in Germany’s capital, Andrejko is not only one of the rising DJs of the Berlin underground dance scene; his style has a unique and appealing recognition value. Flows from the realm of STATTBAD, his closing sets on Sunday morning were clearly an institution of the Berlin club in the heart of Wedding. First and foremost, it’s his dark-pitched techno design that gets stuck. Stomping, rattling, crushing – his penchant for stripped-down techno, that is driven to some breakouts to English mentors as well, is the cause of his uncompromising but always hypnotic sound. Far from any nostalgia, Andrejko symbolizes a new generation of DJs that not only disclaims too much embellishment or useless attachments, his sets live on an energetic aura that knows about the past, but spreads its tentacles here and now. Because of this post-modern approach, Andrejko keeps it simple without being monotonous. For him diversity is spelled with weight, hardness and this matchless robust groove.
