Set that i was playing at this year's Camp Cosmic Festival near Gnesta in Sweden. Thanks Albion & Crew for creating this little paradise there, i had the best time !

Shoutout to my friend Sebastian who's in the mix with two tracks: the intro and somewhere later with his project "Der Räuber und der Prinz". The narrative voice is another friend from Düsseldorf, who's here with two tracks as well: the last one as "Kreidler" and one in the middle as his solo project "Tolouse Low Trax".
Also thanks to George (Black Merlin) for showing me the crazy greek track and to Cesare (Boxes of Toys) for two beauties from Japan.

Detroit original Kyle Hall offers up this week’s mix, and rather than piece together the deep techno set you might expect, Hall has taken a trip into the unknown. An all-vinyl blend, the mix shifts slowly from ambience into searing noise without missing a beat, and while it might be missing the 4/4 chug some might be pining for, it certainly doesn’t cry out for it. Instead it feels more like a transmission from another planet: distorted, distant and fascinating.

Kyle Hall will be performing alongside Laraaji, Andres, Hashman Deejay and Pender Street Steppers this Saturday.

A note from the artist...
"I recorded this mix after a little timeout, away from the city. I called it "Stadtflucht" (I think exodus from the city is the English meaning). I escaped from an active construction site where I live and from the loud and crowded city. I think this mix reflects that. There is still some hum and distant noise, that seems to reverberate, but from a safe distance in a natural environment."

Bio:

Michihiro’s from Morioka city in Iwate and now living Uenohara city in Yamanashi. Active as a DJ since 1996 in Morioka. As the organizer of 'aquart', his themes center around transformation of heart and body led by sound. His mixing style known as simple yet smooth, using subtle Ambient / Electronica / Downtempo / Techno sound sources, pulsating each note.In 2009, Michihiro graduated from the YogaJaya International Teacher Training at the YJA300 level, And he had taught Hatha Yoga at YogaJaya for six years from 2009 to 2015. And also he have teaching experience more than 1000 hours and he is now a Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 200E-RYT and YACEP with the Yoga Alliance,and now he organizes "un." that aims the life to connect and harmonize the nature and the human.

It is undeniable that we are living in uncertain times. For those of us failing to fit the patriarchal neoliberalist mould, we have lost hope in the future. We can see capitalism is not working but we cannot yet envisage an alternative. In a world where security is no longer feasible, the only constant we can rely on is change. Regardless of one’s point of reference, we can understand that every aspect of life, physical and mental is in flux and perhaps this transience is the only thing we can depend on.

This month we have invited @kamarujoseph to ruminate on these ideas and create an hour of relief from these anxieties. A temporary suspension of reality, where the listener can speculate on alternate modes of existence that reject hetero-patriarchal systems of oppression.

KMRU is the moniker of Joseph Kamaru, a sound artist, and producer based in Nairobi. He is a regular performer at the fabled Nyegenyege Festival having also presented live performances at CTM festival and Gamma Festival. Aside from his music production, KMRU has also been presenting a monthly show on Internet Public Radio and runs the Nairobi Ableton User Group community as well as developing projects on radio art and artificial intelligence. KMRU recently participated at Mutek Montreal AI Art Lab and Gamma Lab XR (2020) collaborating on artistic based projects on artificial intelligence and extended realities.
