This is the recording of the Live PA played at the Studio r in Berlin on the 18.06.2013. 

As the Studio r offers a familiar and calm atmosphere, I have taken the occasion to experiment and play something different from what I use to play in clubs and use different setup, more focussed in hardware.

POOLcast 079 - Waldboot

Our latest edition of the POOLcast comes this month from Waldboot. A fictional, artificial construct from the world of Three Apes.

POOLcast 079 is a weave of the musical aspects of this construct. Synthetic, acoustic and emotional sounds, which have their origin in the coincidence of the moment, document a timeless journey through sheer endless worlds. Waldboot's musical form manifests itself in almost exclusively self-synthesized sounds, using various generative algorithms to create a fabric of organic textures and artificial atmospheres. This seemingly tangled web serves as a breeding ground for all sorts of emotional moments and unpredictable ramifications. A kind of a musical maze, which knows neither entrance nor exit. You get the feeling as if you were, are and will irrevocably always have been a part of this mesh.

Coincidence with meaning generates emotions.

Let’s talk about his mix, because it’s full of surprises. Let me hit some of the highlights.

Adriano kicks things off with a remix that hits you like a shot of adrenaline straight to the heart. Julie H’s vocals ride the wave of Sanderson Dear’s beats, setting the tone for what’s to come. This is where the surprise kicks in. Robert Cray steps into the spotlight with “This Man,” a soulful ballad that cuts straight to the bone with his raw vocals and emotive guitar work. The surprise keeps coming with Arab Strap’s “Fabel of the Urban Fox,” a track that captures the gritty reality of city living. And then there’s Jarvis Cocker. What the hell? But that’s the ride Adriano is taking us on. Cocker channels the spirit of French chanson with “Elle Et Moi,” a romantic ballad that oozes charm and sophistication; the song transports listeners to the streets of Paris. We close things out with Mita Gami’s “What If It’s All Alright,” a track that’s as hopeful as introspective. Everything will be all right in the end.

There’s more to Adriano’s mix, but I wanted to share some of the curve balls he threw out. I’m sure it’ll delight you as much as it did me.

Pleasant Systems label head Tilman returns to his own stable with the full length „The Spirit Continues“ for ostensible dancefloor pleasure.
Since 2008, the German producer Tilman has been honing his craft in House music through numerous EP’s on various respected labels and here we see him deliver his fourth long player. Taking influence from 80s NYC proto-garage and Nu Groove’s era of deep house Tilman creates a collection of works which encapsulate the essence of his sound and history with House music over the past two decades, embracing a raw yet dreamy aesthetic throughout.
Across the ten tracks Tilman employs sturdy, jacking rhythm sections, ethereal atmospherics, bumpy bass lines, shimmering chord sequences, infectious vocals and enchanting top lines culminating in somatic ecstasy.
