Girls always inspire music. I fell in love with Abigail Calvert when I lived in Dubuque, Iowa around 2007. She moved away, then I moved to South Miami Beach, where I produced many a track about her. At the time, I was still one of Jehovah's Witnesses, so all my lyrics were always straight from the bible. Quaint.

c. 2007, samson oceanfront park, sunny isles beach, miami, florida, nighttime, i was hanging out with some of jehovah's witnesses at my condo building across the street, when i just felt like they were all "normal" people, and i, a weird guy, had to get away to love and be true to myself, so, i grabbed my laptop and mic and went to the beach, i knew that my religion at the time taught that i should be hanging out, or associating, with other witnesses, that i shouldn't be isolating myself, so i sang the scripture that came to mind about that (proverbs 18:1), the bible i had on my laptop had cross references for every verse, so i sang the cross references too, layering them on top of each other, the beat and melody (really no baseline) were simple, because i was in an acutely emotional mood, i felt very clear, even if conflicted socially, lyrics: (proverbs 18:1) "one isolating himself will seek his own selfish longing, against all practical wisdom he will break forth", (exodus 33:16) "and by what, now, will it be known that i have found favor in your eyes, i and your people? is it not by your going along with us, in that i and your people have been made distinct from all the other people who are upon the surface of the ground?", (romans 14:7) "none of us, in fact, lives with regard to himself only, and no one dies with regard to himself only", (hebrews 10:25) "not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as you behold the day drawing near", (proverbs 15:22) "there is a frustrating of plans where there is no confidential talk, but in the multitude of counselors there is accomplishment", i've always liked this song for its simplicity and concept of concurrently sung verses, but it kinda sounds muddy and should be executed better in the future

c. 2006, Dubuque, Iowa, these "Brandon" tracks are not named after my brother, but after this nice dude I met in Iowa, he was young but the overseeing elder in the religion I was in at the time, he was really spiritual but easy-going and fun at the same time, I looked up to him, even though I was a little older, I was still into Edirol orchestral vst and either using MadTracker or Renoise tracker, I made the beat with orchestral drums, which included this cool snare roll sound, I progressively chopped it up random using vst effects, something I did a lot in those days, being into IDM and glitch, I can't remember exactly how I did the dreamy background you can hear in the beginning, it was probably resampled and effected music of my own, or classical music, la la la
