Ahead of his Raretraxxx 3-hour vinyl set held at our next event featuring Lena Willikens, we reupload this Cristian G. Martí’s mix recorded on a now lost cassette. Originally titled “Selftrax?”, one could say it weaves a plethora of records from several genres, from downtempo and ambient house to 80’s electro, funk, avant-funk, dub, trip hop, house, acid house or bleep, but its main characteristic is the exhibition of Martí’s main traits, which make him undoubtedly one of the best DJs we have ever seen, one of those few real DJ's DJ. It is as if he traverses almost the entire musical spectrum looking for records to build narratives in and in-between genres, giving more importance to the music material, always offering a peculiar and fine selection —like gems shining among piles of records— and a truly special, unique way of mixing.

Part 1 - Super Cosmic LEO

We are proud to announce the next artist on NIM005 : The Legendary Leo Young.
This is Part 1 of the New Interplanetary Melodies MIX004, that Leo has recorded for the label in March 2019, a great cosmic dj set !

LEO YOUNG biography ( Alias : Lee Tong, The Leo Magic Orchestra, The True Underground Sound Of Rome )
Leo is a historic dj/producer in activity until 2005.
He was the youngest broadcast DJ in his country after playing his own show at the age of 13 in 1983.
By 1986, Leo had achieved national prominence through regular exposure on commercial networks countrywide, before taking up a residency in the once infamous London celeb haunt Legends in 1987. The following year saw Leo reach the DMC national finals and organised "L'Impero Dei Sensi", Italy's first rave in Rome in 1989.
Further parties attracted Detroit originators Underground Resistance and Juan Atkins to Europe for the first time. He also gave The Prodigy their first gig outside the UK. 
He was a member of "The True Underground Sound Of Rome", electronic music group based in Rome and founded by Chicco Furlotti, that used to play live during very early 90's italian rave parties.
Soon after, controversy blew up around Leo's reclaiming of a catholic church as the venue for his Sunday Morning Cosmic House events, which went on to run for six months before intervention of a non-divine nature led to the plug being pulled. 
Exhausted that incredible creative phase Leo Young begins to distance himself from Italy, flirting first with London and then with Berlin, and moving away from the techno that marked the Rave scene in Rome. Particularly emblematic in this regard is “From Russia With Funk”, a 12 ″ with which Leo launched the catalog of his label, the Pronto Recordings, with the headquarters in London.
Leo was also a fixture at Berlin's Tresor between 1995 and 1996.
He was  one of the Italian pioneers of the Berlin clubbing, with his twelve-hour “set-marathon”. The boss of Tresor , Dimitri Hegemann, gave him the opportunity to record a triple album "Cosmic Land" on KTM Berlin, a division of Interfish Records.
It was the beginning of a great adventure that in the following years projected Leo to Scandinavia and Russia and that gave him the opportunity to continue his dream, to work with music at least until he chose to dedicate himself to something else.
