"For the IsBurning mix series, it's only logical that I should highlight this record by prolific Dutch producer Dieter Kranenburg, released in 1995 on Urban Sound of Amsterdam. Dutch producers of the mid-90s released so much timeless music at the frontier of different genres that still influence me a lot and can define my style. This track is one of them, combining House and Techno elements that grab my attention : a groovy bass line, sporadic vocals, an atmospheric pad and catchy strings. I also like the track's energy and reverberation, it can be played in different dance floors and can adapt not only to a House, intimate setup but also to bigger rooms with a higher roof, which I particularly like".

Marius Bø is a figure within the northern hemisphere of the electronic music landscape, his artistry is deeply rooted in a profound connection to nature's atmosphere and the communal spirit of open-air gatherings. As one of the co-founders of the Oslo-based collective Ute, Marius' musical journey finds its origins nestled amidst the Norwegian forests. It is here, between the trees and rustling leaves, that his sound took root, hosting and playing parties deep in the woods. Founded in 2017, the Ute label boasts a cult-like following for its approach to psychedelic trance music as well as long form downtempo and chill out sounds presented on sub labels Sinensis and Translusid. 

Marius’ sets can be seen as a concoction of psychedelic atmospherics, renowned for his extended sets, generating dynamic tensions and sublime releases that work both the body and mind. Mastering different tempos and moods of deep hypnosis, he deftly connects the dots between old school records and futuristic soundscapes. Whether it’s ambient, idm, trance or techno, the Ute label-head seamlessly blends the sounds with a captivating elegance. 
From hazy braindance to high-energy vibrations in mist-shrouded forests, balmy shores and dimly-lit basements, Marius navigates diverse settings with his distinctive musical style that takes a gentle yet firm grip on the soul. 

His unique approach has brought him to iconic venues such as Pawnshop, Bassiani, and Macadam, and to international festivals like Monument in the heart of Norway’s forest, Organik on a hidden peninsula in Taiwan and Outsider Festival, deep in the Australian bush. Whether in intimate clubs or verdant outdoor landscapes, Marius' music carries an organic and trippy spirit that transcends time and space.

In some truly safe hands this week with one of Asia's finest operators treating us to three hours of intergalactic house! Gregory Huang aka @diskonnected is one of the pioneers behind Taipei's Smoke Machine (@smokemachinetaipei), the long running techno podcast and party series that started 10 years ago as a semi regular run of "chaotic" DIY parties around the city, and has since gone on to become the epitome of high quality techno with a cult following around the world.

We caught up with Gregory for some rare insight into all the happenings over at Smoke Machine HQ, and he's shared with us a brilliant mix of spacey house with plenty of all-time-classics thrown in, recorded live at Safe Room in Bangkok last year.

Far from the dancefloor, Helena Hauff’s soaring techno remains strikingly physical. Industrial/EBM references lend her sets a sport-like flair and her audiences usually follow the cue. This is a sweaty, fast-tempo addition to the Bassiani mix roster.
