This recording really makes it surreal knowing that I hear the people who was fighting in a war back in the 1960's as a 15 year old, these guys are old now, and who knows if I am hearing my grandfather in this cause I know he was involved in Vietnam from what my grandmother told me.

I was the Platoon Leader of the 2nd Platoon of Alpha Company 1st Battlion 8th Infantry, part of Task Force Alpha, and was one the last helicopter out of 467 on that day. I had been told to E&E to Firebase 20 by the Battlion Commander when I received a radio message from “Alligator 422” which I think was being flown by “Penis”. He told me he was inbound and to pop smoke. We were hold up in the command bunker and were taking fire from our former perimeter completely around us. We popped smoke and he cam in at tree-top level and hovered over the command bunker. We scrambled out and jumped in the helicopter with AK-47 rounds hitting the ship and going through the cargo bay. Were it not for Penis and his copilot I wouldn’t be alive today to hear this audio.
