A song from over 15 years ago, originally recorded as a solo voice/guitar, here re-done in 2012 with an ensemble approach, and just now in 2016 remixed. All instruments me on this one.

Vocal, Ovation acoustic bass, three acoustic steel string guitars, one acoustic gut string, mandolin and resonator slide.

First Of February 2012 Remix

A musical anatomy of online crankiness, opposition, arguments, bitch-fests, depressive prissiness, vitriol, unfriending, blocking and so on.

'Song's a bit long but amusing, I hope.

I hate the cold, so Winter's not my fave. So far this year I'm loaded up on SAM-E and reasonably well behaved.

This one is a brand new post-mix treatment from 2010 in Baltimore, just after the back to back 48 inches of white death, shovel your roof dummy blizzards in one week. 'Closest I've come to waking up underground and having to dig my way up to breakfast.

The 2010 Haiti earthquake and the financial collapse of 2008 were still fresh in the social consciousness.

So from from years ago, seemingly precient again in the 
light of our national group therapy session with Herr 
Trump, and his proclivity for leveraging social media from 
a position of increasing, and potentially ultimate power, 
to craft the modern day equivalent of a "spell". 

A spell is not a dialogue, you understand.

Intention, wishful thinking, prayer, and meditative 
concentration (as opposed to a more zenny approach of 
letting go of concepts rather than focusing upon them) are all versions of the same thing - the human will, what Rollo May called "Intentionality".

This particular piece documents the mentality of combative social media participants, embodied and exercised by me and a few often hapless others at the time, but before facebook and twitter - back in the old email list days.

In a worst case scenario, and post November, 2016 just might be the worse case scenario, nothing related to individual human egotism, vanity and its expression in, whatever media is the prevailing vehicle at the time, has changed, only the scale of power and influence. 

So today this song might be re-titled "I Pushed Tweet", and it goes out to you know who.
