The Thanksgiving Prayer (Coptic) -- Abouna Mina Shaheid

Verse 1: 
In time of weakness, I see You heal me, from misery
And in my grievance, You are a friend to me, So comforting
And so I sing, my heart I bring, surrendering

Chorus: 
I do not live for me
Not my own luxury
My life always belongs to Thee
O Lord, I’m in need
Please, will to help me
Guide me and be my Remedy

Lord I’m returning, please wipe away my tears, and mourn with me

Once I wandered so far away
from my Good Savior Jesus.
He came to me, He who saved me,
and called for me to return.

Refrain:
His sweet voice did call me, call me:
“Prolong not thy straying away.
O dear child, return quickly,
and come to Me, come to Me!”

Cruel thorns left my feet to bleed out,
wounds and agony unparalleled.
I heard the Voice call out to me,
“Thou art in error, return.”

Never did I ever care to
heed to Him, nor to His words.
Therefore I walked away with His
warnings of pain in contempt.

My path grew ever more treacherous,
menacing darkness has prevailed.
I cried in my profound anguish:
“Where is Thy delightful Face?”

My grief has exceeded limits
due to my straying away.
Desolated, I requested:
“O my Savior! Come to me!”

Straightaway, a light shone brightly,
O how radiant it was!
My tender Redeemer with a
smile appeared to my aid.
