Interpolar

A personal piece done as a tribute to a dear friend who recently passed away of shocking circumstances. He was a man of great integrity, and a formidable intellectual in his own right. Here I attempt to show him as a person and friend, through a compilation of my voicemails from him, various colleagues speeches from his memorial service, lectures, all culminating in a piece I composed bleeding in the landscape.

Countertenor Solos from J.S. Bach - Vergnugte Ruh, Beliebte Seelenlust, BWV 170

I was asked to write the theme music for the upcoming podcast "Paranormal Road," which would play as an intro to the program. I layered several eye-witness reports and sound bites over this track in the official version. When the podcast is up and running, I will provide a link. The stories are ranging from all paranormal subjects, so I designed this piece to fit several different horror stories.

On The Paranormal Road

Candleman poses a problem for our hero as he must trudge through dangerous wax mazes, flame throwing enemies, and gobs of molten wax falling from the ceiling. These and other threats besiege our hero as he traverses Candleman's stage on his way to the boss. 

Inspired by my son - his idea - and is a Chiptune track meant to harken back to the early age of gaming.

Candleman

The heroes must plumb the depths of the – seemingly – endless murk of Mallusia in search of a fabled city beneath the seas. Long abandoned, it is said this city once was the parapet of a fearsome empire that thrived in the years before the land emerged from the azure plains. At this time, the world was known as “Azulia” and not much is known about it, besides artifacts. However, when the evil villain Malchus discovers proof the city exists and that, within it, is a very powerful artifact, our heroes delve deep into the mysteries of the sea in hopes to find this powerful tool before it lands in the hands of evil. To do so, they must use jet packs on their backs, enabling them to more easily traverse this terrain and, through magic spells, are able to hold their breath indefinitely. What other mysteries will they uncover in the vast, unexplored deep of the world? For one, shimmering stones help point the way to the kingdom, as the legends say this kingdom used to mine an important, and now rare, mineral known as “Esoterra.” Following the glowing stones, you make your way to the discovery of the lost, submerged kingdom of Mallusia – but are you alone?
