Back To Life Rough Final

Not much to say about this one except that it was requested. Ask and you shall receive cause I'm a man of my word. Although I did have to record this with my iPhone because I left all my recording equipment at college over the break. Couldn't do any cool overlays or mixes. Enjoy.

This is the first track I have recorded with a band, Mariners and Muses, as the lead vocalist. It just so happened that one of my own originals, Back To Life, had a nice fit to us, so we chose it to be our first recording. Feedback is appreciated and thanks to those who listen! Please do!

This is more of a sad song.  I wrote it just thinking about how I'm nearly going to college and that time has passed so fast or so it seems. The guitar playing is really simple, I practically just added a few chords so I could give my song a background. It's not like finalized or anything, but I'd say this is a good rough version of it for now.

Hero Of War (Cover)

It's common knowledge that some experiences in life will be tough to get through. In the past year and a half, I experienced the joys of a relationship, but also the struggles of an unhealthy one. I lost connection with friends, I was pulled away from my family, and even my passions slowly withered down to nothing. Some people, including myself, will never understand why we let "love" do these things to our lives, but I allowed it to happen and I managed to find my way back to happiness. I was wronged. My family was wronged. My friends were wronged. Even so, here I am, a better person, now that I have found my way back to the people and things I truly love. I now understand many things about how a relationship shouldn't be and I couldn't be more thankful for the wake-up call now, rather than later.

After relinquishing the standing relationship and finding a new living situation last semester, I struck pen to paper and got down to writing music again. This time, I finished with a product that is far different from all of the previous songs I have written. Frustration. Sadness. Anger. Disappointment. These emotions do not bear lightly on the mind, and the lyrics of this song ring true down to every word of how I felt under the unhealthy atmosphere of my prior relationship. Forgive me if seeing a different side of me comes to shock you, however I'd ask you to understand that music was my way to cope, to cope with the strong emotions I held toward a person who lashed out at me and everyone I loved in complete disregard of how I felt about it.

I've attempted to cover this song numerous times over the past few years of my life, but never came up with something I was happy with. This time around, I just dove straight in and didn't worry too much about making everything perfect, leading to the creation of this cover (which I am fairly happy with). Ever since high school, this has been one of my favorite songs written by Ed Sheeran, which many may have never heard since it doesn't appear on the radio. Hopefully you will enjoy my own rendition of Autumn Leaves.

It has been awhile since I've pushed myself to record something, but this song struck a loud enough chord for me to brush off the pipes and go for it. The song I'm covering is a short, playfully romantic tune that I discovered through my girlfriend in the first few months of knowing her, and let me tell ya; the song really stuck. Thanks to the new apartment we moved into and her support, I've got plenty of room (literally and figuratively) to dive back into my music. Shoutout to my sister for her help on the final touches. I hope you all enjoy my rendition of Lemonade.
