As SMR LVE move ever closer to the unveiling of their debut artist album, their summer momentum continues in tandem with a familiar partner in Eric Lumiere; for Through the Fire.

Their paths previously crossed as recently as last year through Show Me the Light. The Toronto duo has lit up Coldharbour in 2021 with their much-appraised Need Somebody and Rising Sun, while Eric's lyrical stylings has seen him collaborate with Dennis Sheperd and Euphoric Nation in recent times.

With passionate vocal delivery dovetailed with soaring melodies to match, Through the Fire is an appealing singalong piece for the tail end of summer days.

'Blue' which finds Alex showcasing his remarkable combination of rhythm and groove once again. Spacious and energetic, it's a creation built around rolling bass tones and haunting atmospheres. Harmonic phrases and otherworldly effects converge as the first act unfolds, while ghostly overlays shift energy into the break. Surreal and tense in equal measure, timely modulation adds drama across the one-minute interlude, ultimately reaching a swirling crescendo as the beats fade to prominence, perfectly setting up a striking final movement. Wow, hadn't realised what a journey SoundCloud would take me on.  After many years of passive listening to music I've dieted on a variety of tastes. My appetite for new sounds is undiminished and SC provides plenty of food. I am not a musician and have only recently started to listen positively to the sounds. My early years began listening to music from ABC, The Beatles, The Carpenters Dire Straits Eagles Fleetwood Mac Genesis Elton John Led Zeppelin Gilbert O'Sullivan Rod Stewart Supertramp Tangerine Dream Vangelis The Who and many more.
