Bio:
 
Julie Petrecca was born in 1981 in Montreal. Since childhood, Julie is introduced to music as she grows up practically in the recording studio owned by her father. He quickly transmits his passion and his interest for the world of music to his daughter.
 
In her late teens, she discovers Electronic music and her passion for music grows even more. All these years of musical culture and the well kept connection to this particular universe, Julie's taste develops in several categories of Electronic music from Underground Deep House, Funky House, Jackin, Electronica, Organic House, Progressive House, Melodic House & Techno, Techno, Hard Techno, Tech House and Atmospheric DnB ... nevertheless Julie prefers the underground sounds ;)
 
Since February 2015, Julie host her own weekly show ‘’The So What! Radioshow’’ presenting DJs and DJ/Producers from all around the world. She’s also involved in her Family radio, ‘’Radio Webphré’’

Paul Thomas Presents UV Radio 254 - Special Extended Session

'James Harcourt lands at Renaissance on an absolute tear. In just this year alone he’s seen a track hammered by Tale Of Us (Beholden); released on luminary imprints such as Sincopat, Selador and Parquet and been remixed by indie-titan, Musumeci! Reach a little further back in the discography and the plaudits continue... he’s clearly a producer in undeniable ascent.

Now he returns to Renaissance following a stellar debut on their Merin VA series with their first, full EP together, which is a diverse, 4-track player that pinpoints James’ unique sound and meticulous production. Yet, his inspirations and influences may come as a shock, “At the time of writing the tracks I hadn’t set foot in a club for nearly 4 years – even if there’s the pandemic to factor!”, he explains, “I just couldn’t find much of the music I wanted from old-skool promo trawling, digital sites and record shops; I realised that if I wanted to create those moments I was looking for, the magic, dancefloor spark you only get at festivals, clubs and parties - that I should get on and make it myself.”

So, with a clear objective, the Quartz EP was born with the dancefloor firmly in mind. Whether the peak-time power of Trust Me With Your Heart, the melodic stylings of Sister and Spellbound, or the emotive breaks of title track Quartz, James paints a musical picture that’s full of power and beauty, “I was looking to fire up those moments in the witching hour when the music is enough to tip you from caving-in to raving the early hours away, eventually emerging to reality in the daylight hours!”, he enthuses.

The EP gets a further diversity-injection courtesy of Mr Morek, who brings a shimmer of indie class to Touch Me With Your Heart. “I wanted to approach writing this remix from outside the box,” he says, “I set myself the task to experiment a little, yet still deliver a track that can harmoniously cross genres and fit in a wide selection of DJ sets.”'

Treasures, Precious Items or whatever...

Precious items are always rare? Everything that is rare is also precious? Precious stones, gold, oil. But what about life? Is it not the most precious thing we possess? The love we can give to others? We cannot live by gold, gems, oil and money alone. We cannot accumulate riches if the heart remains cold, extinguished. I, at least, cannot. 

Jeff Bezos is able to fly into space, but is he happy doing so? Does he realize that with this single flight he has emitted about as much carbon dioxide (seventy-five tons in words!) as the poorest families in this world do in their entire lives?

I don't accumulate wealth because I don't make it in the first place! I should build up "reserves," save for times of need, my government says. We are all already suffering hardship...for a long time! The gap between rich and poor is already held by others. This little song should reflect my thoughts, my worries, but also hope. Of course I produce in this moment - and also during composing - CO2, consume electricity for my computer, my keyboard. However, I try to compensate this by consciously doing without other things. But I will NOT renounce the most precious treasures of our life: love, life and hope.

Wow, hadn't realised what a journey SoundCloud would take me on.  After many years of passive listening to music I've dieted on a variety of tastes. My appetite for new sounds is undiminished and SC provides plenty of food. I am not a musician and have only recently started to listen positively to the sounds.
