This ad uses humor to make Republicans pay a political price for blocking a vote on women’s rights in the New York State Senate. The spot accuses Republicans of working with Sens. Klein and Savino of the Independent Democratic Caucus, or IDC, to sweep women’s equality “under the rug.” As a result, the IDC were forced to back down and allow the Senate to vote on abortion rights, although they continue to block passage of the full Women’s Equality Act.
