What were those things that swam in the ocean millions of years ago and eventually evolved into fish?! Everything in this composition is either recorded by me or sequenced with MIDI. The orchestral parts were painstakingly written in a midi piano roll editor (as are all the electronic sounds in my music, I do not like the culture of "let's cut and paste and tweak someone else's audio" rather than write something fresh and original from scratch).

Things That Came Before Fish

I wrote the sax melody for my friend Alistair Dobson who found it quite difficult to play (it uses pretty much the entire range of the tenor saxophone from the lowest note to the highest altissimo sometimes in some of the fast phrases!). I made the mistake of notating it in 4/4 instead of 12/8 like it should have been so that made his job that much more difficult....
