‘Till The Music Stops’ focuses on a young man’s nervousness about expressing his feelings for his love interest openly, and his overwhelming relief when the object of his desire beats him to it unexpectedly. While the setting is a high school prom, it’s an emotional dilemma listeners of any age will relate to instantly, and highlights a simple, intrinsically human moment. “When I write I tend to go for broad topics,” Waines says. “Till the Music Stops’ is about not expecting someone else to make the first move and, when they do, never wanting that feeling to fade.”

‘Till The Music Stops’ also finds Waines exploring a more playful side of his talents as a songwriter and deepening the connections between his lyrical and musical ideas. “That’s the most satisfying and challenging part of writing and recording any song. With ‘Till The Music Stops’ I really wanted to ensure the message was supported by instrumental tracks and the dynamics of the song, and because this song has a bit of an old soul feel to it, I was able to do things that were a little more bluesy and soulful on this track.”

Andrew has been active in the music industry since 2013.  He played rhythm guitar with the Jordan McIntosh Band for two years, including performances at Ottawa Bluesfest, Boots & Hearts Country Music Festival and Cavendish PEI Beach Festival just to name a few of the big venues.  Andrew has also played lead guitar for Mandia Nantsios at various events including Ottawa's Greekfest.
 
Recently Andrew has been focusing on solo work in the soft-rock-blues genre, including both original material and covers.  Currently having some fun showcasing his material at Open Mics across Ottawa.
