He transformed it from rock guitar to synth pop, featuring the awesome vocal talents of David Powell from Nashville, Tennessee. I gotta say I’m really happy with the results. The Storm originates from my longer instrumental piece Journey To The Storm. My wife Di said it was the best piece of music I had written and that I had to make a song out of it - so I did! Very happy to have hooked up with Thomas Jack who provides the lead vocals and the backing vocals are provided by Di! I’m very happy with the mix on this - I think it may be the best track I’ve produced and mastered, but I’ll let you be the judge of that… Thanks to zapsplat.com for the ambient crashing waves used on the track, inspired by Di feeling the music had sent her to a beach 🤣

This is my totally re-imagined Whimper In A Dream, featuring David Powell from Nashville Tennessee on vocals. Back at the beginning of July I put a call out for singers and David responded. Cutting a long story short he lay a great vocal track down which I’ve been busily mixing. Lending it his own vocal style really challenged how the song was originally, and I wanted to accentuate David’s vocals rather than the music, to make it more of an anthem. So I totally rewrote the song! I hope I’ve succeeded in doing his fine voice some justice. This is the final version - for now - mixed entirely in GarageBand. All feedback welcome 🤞🙂

This is the instrumental version of my song An Easy Dream (lyrically it was always intended as the sequel to another of my songs Inside Your Tears). Hoping for a decent singer to lay down vocals far superior to my own (which for your enjoyment are not present here). 🤣 Produced in GarageBand, mastered a little in Final Touch.

My final mix of this song for now. I wanted to capture a little of the atmosphere of Rihanna’s Stay, nowhere near the beauty of that song but it did inspire this musical revamp. It would be nothing without the vocal talents of David Powell.

It does what it says. I mixed all the guitars down to a single track and removed all the sparkle and fizz to make the whole thing feel more like a three piece ensemble rocking out. Personally I almost prefer this to the full mix... It of course still features the brilliant vocals of Greg Lines.

This song I wrote many moons ago, in the early 90s. One of the many I wish I had released back then. The song tells the story of a girl who, disillusioned by the modern world, falls on bad times and eventually manages to escape to a better life... as she will never let anything get her down! I worked long and hard on the mixing and mastering of this track throughout lockdown in the UK, until I finally found the guitar/bass setup I was happy with. My lyrics are brought to life by the very talented Greg Lines who also sings on my track Devil Inside. Massive thanks go out to Greg, I wouldn’t have ever dared try to vocalise this one myself (on account of it requiring a decent singer 🤣). Recorded in GarageBand using real guitar and bass and mastered as always in Final Touch.

So I’ve been writing songs and composing music for the last three decades, but I’ve never done anything with it! Now is the time to share my best pieces with you - there are many more to follow!

I’m also an author and screenwriter, poet and designer. I have a novel or two on Amazon, chiefly The Empty World, which kickstarts the adventures of fourteen-year-old Danny Ringrose (whose father has managed to create a clone of Planet Earth!) and his struggle against the evil Rasmus Creece, who has the power to restart the Mother Universe and make himself God! I also have released a short story entitled The Voodoo Doll: The Priestess And The Pleasure, a scary tale based on the song Voodoo Doll by Tim Black of Off The Realm. We worked on the project together and I acted as remote producer on the track. It’s a cool and crazy gothic style rock song. Check it out!
