I first heard Mask by Hanz while staying in Mexico. I think I was taking a shower and it was bumping on a speaker. I was shuffling through one of my Daily Mix playlists on Spotify, checking out a bunch of new stuff. The song I was now humming melodies over was definitely Hanz’s; his soundscapes sound even better in a bathroom. Since Hanz and I had talked a few times about working together, and I had written lyrics over existing songs in the past that then were re-released, I figured I would have a go at jotting some lyrics down on a notepad I brought.

When I got back to Canada after 10 days without my laptop, I couldn’t wait to record the vocals and send them to Hanz. I think I did it as soon as I got home, and sent them right away. He quickly replied saying that he loved it, and said that he was actually going to send me the song before he uploaded it as an instrumental, but didn’t end up doing it for whatever reason. lol

hi there, it's jesse. 
thanks for being here.
This is the story of a young adult, who has decided to leave everything he knew and head for another horizon. His heart hasn't replaced his reason, it's his reason that finally agreed to partner with his heart.
He's not quite sure what he's doing, but he knows it's the right thing to do. 
He finds it fascinating to consider that the search for fulfillment in simple things is not tied to a particular period of time. The desire to detach oneself from all those things that make life so unnecessarily complicated has always been there.
Contentment, reparation, patience are values that are getting lost as society progresses, as we can see it in the way we treat our relationships and belongings.

This musical project retraces the journey that each of us once dreamed of pursuing. To this end I brought along my usual folk-hop sound, with some charming, acoustic and warm melodies. I hope it will somehow make your day a tiny bit better in one way or another :)
