Written for the play "The Distance".  Throughout the play there is the suggestion of a military force approaching the main characters.  This piece was meant to reflect this unseen threat and also to restore the tension that results from the ending of the 1st Act.

The Distance: "March", Opening Of Act 2 (2010)

Written for the play "The Distance". This was a short piece of incidental music meant to work as a background to the opening of the play.

The Distance: "Theme", Opening Of Act 1 (2010)

Written for the play "Still".  This play centers on 2 characters; a man and the young woman that he murders.  We attempted to create a futuristic aesthetic in this play by using metallic elements in the sounds and set design and bright and colourful lighting states.  For this reason glockenspiel, synths and effects featured heavily in my composition.

In this particular piece I tried to reflect that time had passed since the end of the 1st act and also to create an other worldly and spooky atmosphere.  The play is set on the banks of a river and at this point the ghost of the murdered girl returns to confront her murderer who has returned to the scene of the crime.

Still: Opening Of Act 2 (2010)

Written for the play "Still".  This piece accompanied the end of the play at which point the woman's ghost fades away. I intended to convey this action and also that the woman had found some kind of closure by confronting her murderer.
