As premiered by Majestic Casual, GRADES' remix of Brandy's classic R&B anthem 'I Wanna Be Down' is the first bootleg in a series to be released online. Brandy’s original version of ‘I Wanna Be Down’ was a defining hit of the Nineties R&B when it was first released in 1994. The track topped Billboard’s Hot R&B / Hip-Hop Songs chart and reached #6 on Billboard Hot 100. 

“I was born in the Nineties and grew up in the Nineties listening to a lot of that style of R&B which was a big influence on me,” says G R A D E S. “It’s a song I love to play in my DJ sets and always goes down really well, so I wanted to put a modern spin on an old classic.”

Veteran London house producer Cenzo Scoglio aka Finest Wear has been with Colour and Pitch since the label's inception in 2013. The 'Distant Memories' EP was his debut release under the 'Finest Wear' name, a moniker which has been steadily gaining him global recognition ever since. Recent releases on Nordic Trax and Large Music have seen Finest Wear's hypnotic, pure brand of deep house riding high in the Traxsource charts, so we're delighted that he's saved four of his very best tracks for our 30th label release.

The EP opens with 'My Illusion', a dreamy organ & pad-led groove and a bass-line that dreams are made of. 'The Light' sees spine-tingling spoken-word poetry rubbing shoulders with a compelling, angular arrangement. Something a little more expansive follows in the form of 'Time'; a sweeping, feel-good deep house epic with enough bounce for peak time sets. The EP closes with piano house designed to tweak the heartstrings: 'Through The Tears' combines simple chords and an old-school aesthetic, sure to provoke some dance-floor reverie.

Besides launching his fresh Bodybuilder Quartet series (QSB), inaugurated by Scott Franka, Nachtbraker unveils yet another Quartet: four records in the The Trophy Quartet series (QST). Both these two Quartets will be released over the course of the next two years.
The Trophy series will cover the warmer side of the house music spectrum. And who better than Parisian boy-wonder Tell (Banoffee Pies, Skylax, Rutilance) to kick off proceedings with the brilliant “Faster Than Light” EP. Last year he released “Hope Springs Eternal” on QS003 which was an overnight succes after getting rinsed by heavyweights like Jeremy Underground and Detroit Swindle, so a proper solo EP was inevitable.

On the A1 Tell serves up some intergalactic French filter house dubbed “Faster Than Light”, which brings back the Daft Punk and Armand van Helden vibes of our Walkman-days. We all just love filters, admit it. Its true. Next up is “Ya’ll Feel That Honey (Paradise Mix)”, a tune with undeniable swing and moody chords that ultimately collide beautifully with a delectable big room piano riff that will stay in your head for days. B1 opens with a leisurely-paced jam called “What Can U Do For Me”. It’s the ‘pretty one’ of the EP, the one girls fall in love with and boys hate to love because they know he’s hot stuff. A high pitched vocal, asking what you can do for her, flies over rubbery Rhodes chords with neat percussion keeping you on the groove. The EP closes with B2 “Vamos A La Playa”. Keywords: coconuts, sand, bikini, six-pack and tan. Vamos!
