Metalheadz and Grey Code are proud to announce 'Renewal', the debut Grey Code album set to be released in January 2022 which follows up from the UK producer's seminal EPs ‘Reprieve’ and ‘Helios’, as well as a critically acclaimed remix for Goldie’s ‘The Mirrored River’ and Beatport No.1 collaboration ‘Call In Me’ alongside Phase.

With a huge package of new music ready to be revealed to a fan base that has grown around Grey Code's deep, soulful and intricately woven rhythms, he’s once again set an enviable standard. The album positions itself perfectly within the back catalogue of Metalheadz, with the South coast born producer now an imperative part of the roster.

‘Renewal’ marks a continuation in Grey Code’s journey, one which has enabled him to tour internationally, from Austria to Japan, as well as everywhere in between. Flexing the razor-sharp production skillset which he’s become renowned for, ‘Renewal’ is another example of the young producer’s value. It’s a fully immersive album from start to finish, including the sounds of ‘Prima’ setting the pace whilst ‘Voyage XIII’, ‘Eternal Garden’ and ‘Quantified Self’ follow suit. Meanwhile, ‘Actress’ and ‘Miserere’ deliver the darker hues whereas ‘Lone’, ‘Birth’ and ‘Nowhere Ever’ take you back into Grey Code’s more emotive musical landscapes.

Finishing the album are selections ‘MANTA’, with its euphoric levels, and ‘Primrose’ with its old-school breaks, alongside ‘Illiad’ which nods to its namesake through being sonically epic. Grey Code has constructed a work of art through his ‘Renewal’ album and it’s easy to hear within every track. As his music flourishes alongside some of the most renowned cuts to come through within drum & bass, he is becoming more and more notorious amongst its circles. With music like the type featured on ‘Renewal’, it’s easy to see how he’s one of the most hotly tipped artists coming through this generation of music creators.

Hospital Records’ São Paulo discovery Urbandawn is a serious contender. After releasing two popular EPs with the label and spending several months determined in the studio his debut album ‘Gothenburg Cluster’ is ready.

Seventeen tracks of sophisticated sound design unite punching drum beats, funk ridden riffs and huge cinematic explorations. The experienced audio engineer not only draws from his Brazilian roots but also the more niche rock, metal and folk bands of the Swedish mid 90’s scene. It’s this distinctive spin on drum & bass that’s grown support from the scene's heavyweights over the last two years.

It was ‘Trindade’ - discovered deep in Hospital’s demo box - that first brought Urbandawn to London Elektricity’s attention. He's been tipped as 'The Future Sound of Brazil' with ‘Messiah Complex’ and ‘Pavlov’s Dog’ that have stayed permanently in the label boss' record box and getting dancefloor’s moving across the world.

‘Still Breathing’ featuring Med School prodigy Keeno, is an emotive match of ethereal piano and staccato strings. Skankandbass is dedicated towards the official promotion of record labels and artists in the world of drum & bass music. Since inception in 2010, Skankandbass has unearthed some of the freshest talents in the scene and has opened many doors for unsigned artists. Now, a few years in to the game, Skankandbass decides to take on the role of a record label to put together a series of free download singles which aims to further help spread the work of the best unsigned, newcomer artists who deserve more recognition.

SNB042 comes from up-and-coming Montpellier based duo, The Caracal Project. After cutting their teeth in the local French scene, the duo caught our attention earlier this year with their debut EP, 'Fallin', on Impact Music. Starting his career in 2010, D&B producer Andrey Eastcolors, from St.Petersburg Russia, has been consistently busting out a series of increasingly successful releases on labels like Critical, RAM and Hospital Records. His track Toys, released on one of the most respected British label, RAM Records, smashed it to the top of the Beatport chart and even got played out in the legendary Nightlife compilation by the one and only Andy C himself! In 2015, after a long and hard slog, Andrey released his debut solo album Lighthouse, becoming an instant hit with listeners. Driving forwards with music production in 2017 Eastcolors dropped a massive new tune Keys exclusively released on Swiss label Demand Records. In a flash, this track stole the hearts of thousands of D&B fans, with plays skyrocketing on Spotify and Apple music. Not only there, it also got added straight away to the UKF playlist. The pure sickness of Andrey’s work gets proven time and time again through invitations to make guest mixes for BBC Radio 1. Touring through Europe, this true artist always shows off the best of D&B sound in his DJ sets, mixing rolling dance-floor beats with soulful and deep vibes.
