Wow, this song ended up being quite emotional for me. I think I just have a thing for Zelda music, cuz this remix ended up being one of my favorites right away. The feeling I get from it is just so powerful and almost sad? Idk but this one flowed out of me so fast that I couldn't process how I was doing it. The majority of this piece was done in 2 days, which is an incredible pace for me. Now what genre is this? I'm honestly not too sure, maybe like a melodic trap or something. It has powerful beats and then it kinda goes in to d e p r e s s i o n mode lmao. I really hope you like this one, cuz it comes straight from the heart.

That's right, I covered the entire song. 

Special thanks to the MIDI from en.midimelody.ru for giving me a jumping-off point for writing the chords and drums. Everything else I did from scratch. I think I had the most fun writing the Clean Electric and the guitar solos. They were the most fulfilling.

Now that Kawai Sprite put up the chromatic scale for Simpey, I've found myself creating things with DirectWave for the first time. I sampled the drums from Roses and all the bass notes and made them into DirectWave patches.

Also, as a side effect of making this, I realized that any time David sings the words "China Girl" throughout the song he ONLY uses notes that are from the opening riff (D E F# G A B), and that's awesome.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention, a major part of the creation process was repeatedly chopping up the source audio and shifting it forward because the tempo kept changing by miniscule amounts, I fucking hate that when I want to cover something.

Update: after I made this cool pseudo-octave pedal effect yesterday I wanted to test it out on something that uses electric guitar. Since I've always felt this cover didn't have enough of that sound to it, I brought that in. In doing so, I also brought in another instance of the Muted Guitar that I'd forgotten, touched up a couple note lengths for Senpai, and fixed up bits of the accompanying guitar so they matched more closely.
Update 2: did some more changes to the vocals. Most importantly, though, I improved the mixing on the "real" electric guitar sound- to the point where I'm actually proud of it now. It's nice and subtle now, but it still stands out in the mix and clearly has reverb placed on it, which was my intention.
Also, the 2nd instance of the Refrain, the 2nd phrase I changed up some. The harmony is different and the 3rd note in the phrase was extended for both. 
OH, that reminds me, I added Bounce Loop to a few more of SP and BF's vox samples, so the legatos are longer (and I made them sound good at these longer lengths, too). 
Also took out pitch bend on one of BF's notes during the A section because I didn't like it, but I don't know if anyone noticed when it was changed to that, anyway, so all's well.
