Finnish producer Jani R is a brand new addition to the Silk Sofa roster. Also known for his techno project that has been around since 2002, Incolumis (of JOOF Recordings fame), Jani blesses us with "Collision", a unique collection of six brilliant downtempo and chillout cuts.

"All The Beauty" contains an outstanding and hypnotizing soundscape, spiced with a vast array of lush synth elements and smooth percussion grooves. A beautifully crafted string ensemble introduces "Under The Radar", and throughout the track a number of delicious sound effects emerge for extra texture. "Second Chance" quickly establishes a truly mesmerizing atmosphere with a haunting percussion line, and the surrounding melody layers keep inspiring the listener. The fourth song on this release is "Collision Course", in which countless texture layers spice up the atmosphere, while soothing melodies and stabs lurk in the background. Finalizing this downtempo collection from Jani R are two "Spin-off"'s of "Collision Course" and "Under The Radar", acting as the perfect 'double' outro.

Mihalis Aikaterinis, Greek artist, has a natural ability to compose music as ethereal as deeply grounded. With roots in the gothic and cold wave realms and a genuine passion for the electronic scene, he weaves with verve and subtlety finely crafted rhythms and soft melodies. The wide soundscapes, floating atmospheres and resonant themes reveal profound emotions akin to melancholia and hope. 

[ Elsewhere ] is a cinematic downtempo, IDM and ambient album presenting 12 tracks including a remixed version of Ominous Ride featured on the [ Ambrosia ] compilation.

The composition of this Far & Off album began after on long period of detachment and isolation. 

This modern life we lead tends to saturate many of us with information, constant stimuli of all kinds and shatter time, as if we lived in small sequences. Some of us content themselves with that, some manage to regulate or tighten the flow, others collapse or pretend not to. 

I guess I'm not the only one to ever feel the need to fly away, remove myself from the ongoing swirl and purely vanish. 
It wasn’t a matter of waking up with a sudden urge, it built up, slowly, between the lines, it wasn’t caused by any philosophical, spiritual or religious belief either. It simply became a natural answer to the surrounding frenzy. 

To be on my own, far, in another context, without technology, an act of protection. Taste real solitude, a state in which no one else exists; cross the line, change rhythm and feel the passing of time. 
This is what I am sharing with you now, with keys and sounds, pads and patterns, glitches and drums. My desire was to compose contrasted tales, to bring light on the paradox, from one extreme to the other, harshness to tranquility. 

Mihalis, as he encountered a similar situation was keen on putting those emotions into music and the perfect partner as it turned out.

Chicago-based chillout producer, Edamame, delivers his 14-track album, Bask on Gravitas Recordings. The project is a balmy breeze, warping through feelings of absolute bliss and unadulterated serenity. While the compositions embrace an ambient motif, expressive percussion and graceful melodies weave energy throughout. Fans of CloZee, Bonobo, and Random Rab will resonate with this release.

Setting the tone for the album, “Kishi Kaisei” blends angelic vocals with vivid drums. On “Sable,” Edamame and his Loci Records cohort Tor construct a dreamlike state through atmospheric and hypnotic sounds. The title track “Bask” tides in and out with a soothing bassline, feathered synths, and subtle vocals. “Passim”, which features the illustrious Emancipator, romances the ear drums by way of steelpan, sitar, and rolling percussion that culminates into a sensual outro.
