Alta Sierra Waltz

My wife's family often sings this hymn as a singing grace before holiday meals. The 
lyr­ics, often referred to as the Dox­ol­o­gy in many church­es, are ac­tu­al­ly the last verse 
of a long­er hymn, "Awake, My Soul, and with the Sun" written by Thomas Ken in 1674. 

The score is attributed to Luis Bourgeois(1510-1561) who, interestingly, was jailed at one point in his career for modifying some well known hymns without a license.

The lyrics are:

Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

The Genie

Here's the latest from my little iPhone 8-track demo project.  "Are You Lonesome Tonight," written by Lou Handman & Roy Turk, and first published in 1928.  This tune has been covered by many, many musicians over the years; The Carter Family, Elvis, Frank Sinatra, & Norah Jones, to name just a few.  My version features ukulele, alto & tenor saxophones, musical saw and vocals, and comes in just under 4 minutes.  Enjoy and feel free to share! 

I must add that I am extra-excited about this recording as it represents the fact that I have finally taken my horns out of the closet where they have been gathering dust for far too long.
