Debut album release “Party’s Over” Radio 1 Album of The Week for Huw Stephens. BBC Introducing – massive support, the band have performed a 30 minute live set on BBC Intro South West and have been a BBC Intro Record of the Week nationally. Huge support from Steve Lamacq at 6 Music, band have been interviewed live on the show.
Radio X playlisted. John Kennedy has played every release. The band have performed 2 live sessions on his show. “Every track they've released has been a hit as far as i'm concerned” - John Kennedy.

Live
The band sold out Old Blue Last, The Social and Paper Dress Vintage in London. Old Bakery Studios and Underland in Truro and Falmouth and near sell outs in Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow and Cardiff. They have supported Liam Gallagher at The Eden Project, Frank Turner, Paul Weller, Yak, Wallows and more. They have toured nationally and have played Boardmasters, Y Not, Truck, Isle of Wight, Leopalooza Festivals. In Sept 2022 they were chosen by Michael Eavis to support Elbow at The Pilton Party.

HULLAH, a London-based writer-producer, today announces the release date of his newest single, Wild as the Wind, of Wednesday 16 November, 2022 via AWAL and streaming on all platforms.

The new single, produced by HULLAH, bridges the worlds of dream-pop and pop-rock and plunges the listener into an unsettling atmosphere.

“Wild as the Wind is an ode to the wilderness I feel inside myself - the parts of myself I don’t understand and have to grapple with,” comments HULLAH. “It’s about trying to make friends with your own insecurities,  worries, dread, hopes and desires - the things you don’t quite understand but that equally push and pull you in life nonetheless.”

Deviating from HULLAH’s usual fully electronic productions, Wild as the Wind is instead underpinned by a fleshy baseline that packs a gut punch. With guitars so distorted they’re almost synth like, a sense of warmness is felt by the isolation of these instruments and is a contrast to the iciness of the synths, melding together to create this sense of dejection felt in the lyric.

Speaking of the meaning behind the track, HULLAH explains: “There’s the ‘us’ that we present to the world and then there’s the ‘us’ that we are when we are alone, uncomfortably alone. That’s what I mean by wilderness, the space in between those two versions of yourself. Wild as the Wind is about not trying to contain this wilderness - it’s about truly seeing those aspects of yourself and attempting to accept and be at peace with them.”

Alongside his self-titled work, HULLAH writes and produces alongside other up-and-coming artists, most recently Gabrielle Ornate on her recent releases Spirit of the Times and Waiting To Be Found which have been featured in her live shows as well as on BBC Radio, and Tom Robinson’s Fresh on the Net.

Winlaton (win-lay-ton) is the third single released by the Ilfords since their 2022 rebirth.

Our David on Winlaton: 'Winlaton was written during deep lockdown. Nothing was open and late night running was the only space I had to myself. I suppose it reflects on what methods you can try to use when you feel lost. On one late night trek however, I realised I wasn’t just lost mentally at that time but geographically as I’d managed to run all the way to Winlaton.'
