There was nothing mediæval about the Nazi régime at all; it was an entirely modern construct, derived in reaction to the French Revolution, which was intensely nationalist. Hitler loathed the genuine German model, which was particularist, not nationalist; hence his hatred for the Habsburg Dual Monarchy, and his admiration for the Prussian-based Deutsches Reich.

I want to make clear that I do admire you hugely, Mr. Klavan. Non omnia omnes possumus, and you do enormous numbers of things well. Understanding Germany, though, is not one of them.

Downloading that app and following the calorie tracker helped me to lose nearly 10 pounds in 3 weeks. Not sure if that is all thanks to the app, I am still skeptical of these sort of things.
