Dungeon Acid, bred in Gothenburg’s (Sweden) obscure music scene during the eighties and nineties, releases his second 7” on Höga Nord Rekords. Dog Acid and Sex Beat focuses on those remote corners where Jean-Louis Huhta have rooted his musicality. With legendary bands like Cortex, Anti Cimex and The Skull Defekts on his resume, Huhta is most definitely one of the most interesting artists in Sweden!
The music on this 7” breathes sex, concrete and dark seas. 
Dungeon Acid is the miner of your record crate – hard at work finding the nuggets in punk, rock and electro to develop the strict techno.

PREMIERE | Dungeon Acid - Sex Beat [Höga Nord Rekords] 2017

A cover song by @kelly-gilleran and I from Soft Cell's 1981 album 'Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret'. It's always been my favorite song by the duo and this was such great time exploring some of the details of this song. It was controversial at the time and is still surprising to be found on YouTube. Absolutely NSFW but highly recommended that you check it out if you don't have delicate sensibilities. The video version is quite different from the dance track but the video makes it worth it. Hope you like Kelly and my take on the track.

End of Ends is a text/sound installation by Steve Dutton and Neil Webb that plays with an understanding of the ‘ending’. It is a potentially vast list of ‘endings’ and an ever-expanding sound loop.

Biography
In 1880 Nietzsche wrote ‘God is dead’. In 1882 the Church of St. John the Divine opened in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. 500 people attended every Sunday. Contradictions between intellectual positions and real human behaviour may be fertile territory for artists.

END OF ENDS is the third of three Arts Council funded residency projects at x-church.

Frank Kent made site specific paintings, Charles Monkhouse experimented with Brocken Spectres and now Dutton and Webb are working in sound and text with an apparently endless list of ends.

x-church is a vast empty space holding at one and the same time a sense of something ended and a sense of something beginning. For this project Steve Dutton and Neil Webb have created a text/sound installation which plays on our understanding of beginnings and endings by developing a potentially infinite list of ‘endings’ along with an ever expanding sound loop. Visitors to x-church and to www.endofends.co.uk will have the opportunity to contribute their own endings to this ever-growing project.

Logically the longer the list becomes, and the more the sound expands, the more they should become exhausted, but in reality many people report that the experience of adding to the list pushes their thoughts further towards a sense of beginnings. Ironically, although the invitation is to submit and to consider endings, by doing so, the work and perhaps associated thoughts of possibilities continue to take place.

Steve Dutton and Neil Webb often work within other collaborations but this is the first time they have worked together on one project incorporating sound and text.

Die Form-Masochist

Sex Object, is another one of my Covers in homage to the legendary Kraftwerk. This track comes off Electric Cafe (1986) album. I have modernized it slightly and re-arranged it to my own comfort. Adding a moment of solitary strings as a bridge for the more percussive/volksmusik section. 

Electric Cafe would probably have to be my all time favourite Kraftwerk album alongside Trans Europe Express so it would seem fitting to give it a homage with my ageing RS-70.

The track was performed  live on the RS-70 (sequencing and string parts) recorded with the zoom h4n. No extra editing was needed.
