A dear mix of music I love since many years!

US/Canada 90's Indie/Alternative Rock & Lo-Fi are genres I cherish, although few people know. ;)

Plenty great bands are included here: Pavement, Bugskull, Built to Spill, Guv'ner, Sebadoh, Sammy, Guided by Voices, Dinosaur Jr, Polvo, Silver Jews...

The majority of people probably never heard most of these songs, 90s alternative music that not many people listened to. In my school in Geneva, only another guy was into this kind of stuff... and none of my friends liked this. 

I was always going on my own to the few shows that made it to town or Switzerland. Saw Cat Power playing solo at La Dolce Vita in Lausanne, Guv'ner in a Geneva squat, Sebadoh at Fri-Son... Barely 18, I hitch-hiked my way across the whole country to the Rote Fabrik in Zurich in 1995 to see the Big Cat Tour feat. Pavement (with two drummers), Dirty Three, Mercury Rev, Blumfeld... For someone who wasn't born there, Kenny Dixon Jr. aka Moodymann might be the most Detroit guy to ever exist.  Moving to the motor city from LA at only three weeks old, he has never "truly" left since. His music channels the musical legacy of Black Detroit – transplanted Delta blues, gospel, Motown and Fortune, Stevie Wonder, the Electrifying Mojo and the Belleville Three – with an unassailable verve. His dust-spackled opus "Silentintroduction" has hummed continously in the background of house music since its release in 1997, inspiring generations of producers.
