Dance TV is proud to present DJ MIX #599 with the Hannover based Icelandic DJ and producer - THOR.  Being one of the leading figures in the nordic islands techno scene for more than three decades, THOR has often and righteously been dubbed as the Godfather of Icelandic Techno. For us the founder of the legendary Thule Records & Æ Recordings delivers an exclusive DJ mix showing a deep house side of his craft, which we absolutely adore and are very happy to share with you! Besides his own Thule Records output, THOR's dub-influenced techno tracks have been released on the Berlin based Sushitech Records, as well as The Double R, Rekids, Connaisseur Recordings, Harthouse and many more. Throughout the years, Thor has had steady amount of releases and remixes coming out and his music has also been heavily featured on various compilations worldwide. His last EP „Decay” came out on Thule Records in 2018 and he is currently working on new material in his new German studio while collaborating with artists such as Roger Gerressen, Matt Thibideau & OHM

Apart from remixing artists such as Bob Marley, Anthony Rother, Sigur Rós, Steve O’Sullivan, Ben Sims, Exos, Eddie Matos (Mateo & Matos), Gus Gus, THOR has also had numerous successful collaborations with artists such as Goldie, Pascal F.E.O.S., Tim Taylor, Exos, Roger Gerressen, Matt Thibideau, Yagya and the Icelandic pop superstar Björk. 

The list of places where THOR has performed at is long, and includes well known clubs around the world. e.g. Berlin's renowned Panoramabar/ Berghain, Heideglühen or Wilde Renate, RexClub in Paris, Heaven in London, Fuse in Brussels, Closer in Kiev to only mention some of his favourite locations in Europe. Being a frequent guest in North America he has graced the decks at New York´s ReSolute, Blkmarket and Flash in Washington DC, as well as Stereo Bar in Montreal and LuandaHouse in Toronto.

orbit: I recorded my mix at home. I usually do it at night.

orbit: I try not to stand still, and to develop in different musical directions that are interesting to me. Soon I'll writing a series of new mixes, in an experimental style for me.

Genning:
Maxim has been creating electronic music for many years. Originally from Yekaterinburg. In 2008, the first minimal album was recorded. In 2014, the first release took place on the Proton Records label. Since 2017, I have been collecting vinyl artifacts of rare collector's editions from 1994 to the present. In 2018, a dub-techno album with 10 tracks was released on the MixCult label. An endless number of digital releases followed, including vinyl compilations.
Between 2012 and 2023, more than 60 mixes of different genres were recorded. He is currently working closely on new musical material and performs regularly.
