Sonic Boom Six has emerged from the rubble of culture and politics of 2023 with RE:Generation, a new compilation of their material from the last decade, plus two brand-new tracks.

New song ‘Future Shock’ drops with quite literally a Boom: the band’s signature mix of heroically heavy riffs with dancefloor-ready grooves serving up their horror at the increasingly polarised war zone of social media discourse. ‘One Of The Boys' skewers the old boy's network that has dominated British decision-making for as long as they care to remember over a mash-up of ska-punk and bass music. Throw in road-tested anthems like ‘Virus’, and ‘No Man No Right’ and we have a record that celebrates the band’s remarkable journey while continuing their artistic evolution.

Moreover, in October 2023, Sonic Boom Six are set to inspire a renewed sense of unity and enthusiasm among their fans as they take their electrifying performances to stages across the country for the RE:Generation tour. SB6 is ready to remind us once again that music has the extraordinary ability to touch our souls, unite us as a community, and pave the way for a brighter future.

The other day I found myself playing Xbox on one tv, with a snowy backdrop and Christmas sounds on another.  Even though my joy of playing videos games is gone, I still retreat there at times because it takes me back to my childhood.  As we get older, I think we all crave that innocence of our early years, and resent the harsh realities of this world that over time, and sometimes swiftly, steal it away.

Matthew 18:2-4 says...
"Jesus invited a little child to stand among them. “Truly I tell you,” He said, “unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”

The innocent mind of a child is the best representation of the love God calls us ALL to have for one another.  We are to love our neighbor as ourselves, as a child would. With innocence and grace.

But this world is intentionally trying to sabotage the innocence of our youth.  It has stolen MY INNOCENCE and YOURS.
It seems every day brings a new trial, but the more they come, the more the words written in James 1:2-3 resonate, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you encounter trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.”

The more we are tested, the more we are forced to draw closer to the Lord, and that faith brings strength and perseverance.
The alternative is letting it foster bitterness, resentment, pride, and separation from the childlike love that our Creator calls us to have for others; which is sadly what we see much evidence of in the world today.  

Some people would rather gossip behind a friend’s back, than to share truth in love with friends because it means having uncomfortable conversations at times.  But those conversations are when we SHARPEN one another and allow for GROWTH- spiritually and emotionally.  We are called to do that, and sometimes that means sharing tough love.

Sometimes I want to ask these questions when a friend is offended by my being honest with them…
Do you think I enjoy saying things that will hurt or offend you?
What do you think my intentions are?
Why do you think I am sharing what i am sharing?
Would you rather me gossip about you to others, and not be up front with you? 

Pride has an amazing way of letting us justify acting in ways unbecoming of a Christian.  He told us to FEED MY SHEEP.  You feed sheep by loving one another as He loved us, and sometimes love hurts, because truth hurts- but it’s the only way we grow.

The toughest lessons I’ve learned in life have come from being confronted with aspects of myself that i didn’t want to hear, feeling judged or belittled.  But without those moments I wouldn’t have grown and I thank God for them, and the people brave enough to confront in those moments.  (Not always with grace either, but God used nonetheless)

We can’t allow pride and comfort to protect our “innocence.”  We can’t hide behind “our own peace” when those around us have been afflicted by our words and actions.  Having a childlike innocence and speaking truth in love are necessary elements in this world if we are to become purified in our sanctification- to then become better reflections of Christ.

Are you willing to set aside your pride for the benefit of other children of God? Only then will you truly be serving Him.  Everything else is just works, which are dirty rags in the eyes of the Lord.

Malachi 3:2-4
"For He will be like a refiner’s fire, like a launderer’s soap. And He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver."

We must allow the Lord to refine us humbly, through the fire...
We must come as children to the throne of grace…

Native people inhabited the Connecticut River Valley of western Massachusetts for more than 10,000 years. It is the homeland of many First People, all related to one another. They are called the Sokoki, Pocumtuck, Nonotuck, Woronoco, and Agawam.

Many other tribes visited and still visit this Native homeland. Among them are the Abenaki, Nipmuck, Wampanoag, Narragansett, Mohegan, Pequot, Mohican, and Mohawk. These tribes are recognized today by states or the federal government as sovereign nations.

Our guest on this encore interview from 2022 is Jennifer Lee, Northern Narragansett Educator and Board member of the Nolumbeka Project [https://nolumbekaproject.org/], an organization dedicated to honoring the Northeastern Tribal Heritage of the Connecticut River Valley. The word Nolumbeka is Abenaki for “the calm waters between the rapids.” 

Included are two excerpts from the video series "Indigenous Voices," as well as commentary on the Wampanoag view of the story behind the Thanksgiving holiday.

Historically, tribes gathered in this valley to trade, to fish, to plant, to participate in sacred ceremonies. The sad fact remains that during the wars waged in the colonial period, the Native people were driven from this valley. They blended into the Abenaki, Nipmuck, and Mohican tribes across the Northeast. Often, they integrated into the settler communities. Some were herbal doctors, basket makers, and carvers. They dressed like their European descendant neighbors, but kept the fire of their culture alive.


Jennifer Lee, Grandmother, bark basket maker, and culture bearer, provides histories, insights and perspectives of Native Peoples of the Northeast. Jennifer grew up without knowledge of her Native ancestry which compelled her to seek out the true history and culture of the Northeast Woodlands Indigenous Peoples as an independent researcher. For roughly 30 years, she has held classes in her Eastern Conical Wigwam to tell the stories of Northeastern Native Peoples and share her cultural knowledge. She is co-producer with the Nolumbeka Project of the 10-part film series “Indigenous Voices'' [https://nolumbekaproject.org/indigenous-voices/]. Carry Kim, Co-Host of EcoJustice Radio.
