"time moves in mysterious waves" is my third EP as android dreaming. I haven't released many tunes outside of my annual promo mixes for the past couple years, so I'm really excited to share a bit of what I've been working on this year. these tunes are a little raw - they're full of clipping, pops, crackles. but that's okay because I don't need them to be perfect. I just need them to sound like me. thanks for listening 🤎🤎

intro

divergent series builds on a glitchy melodic sequence that was composed on my modular synth. rich harmonies layered with reverb and broken by glitches, repeats, and stutters provide the foundation for one of my favorite things that I wrote in 2023.

this track has been through so many iterations. really thrilled to finally call it done and share it with the world. the original WIP title was "bugs" because it was based around some loud field recordings of insects. those sounds were eventually stripped to make room for guitar layers and percussion. this track blends some inspirations from shoegaze and jam, using a bunch of original guitar layers, along with some 808 drums and other synthetic sounds. hope you dig it :)

hexapoda

this track was a really fun exploration of non-4/4 time in bass music (count that 9/4) along with one of my favorite gnarly bass sounds. i hope you dig the meditations :)

meditations

originally titled 'heady groover', this track uses some drums from the tr-8s, sparse modular sounds for the melodic bits, and some heavy subs.  really digging this tempo for club-inspired stuff these days

hyacinth daydream

closing the EP with a bang, this track is maybe a little incomplete but captures a vibe that takes me back to summer. really love the way this slowly crescendos into some bassy madness :)
