Pinerolo is a restaurant in Oslo. I was commissioned by the owners to compile and mix three mixtapes. Their directives were rather vague, lending me an opportunity to pick from any genre, not care too much about how commercial the tracks were and just create an eclectic but cohesive compilation that would contribute to the relaxed vibe at Pinerolo. This is what I did.

Unsere „Auf zu Neuen Dächern“ Reihe wird heute glatte 20 Lenzen alt und der Kranich damit buchstäblich zum alten Hasen. Umso mehr freuen wir uns, dass unser Podcast-Jubiläum der Plattenkiste von „Elias Doré“ entspringt: Der gebürtige Berliner sammelte zahlreiche Erfahrungen in Bands diverser Genres von Afro-Funk über Klezmer bis hin zu Reggae und Soul, bevor er sich vor nicht allzu langer Zeit vollends der elektronischen Musik hingegeben hat. Mit dem Kurswechsel ist er sich dabei insofern treu geblieben, als dass seine Musik keine Spur der Wärme vermissen lässt, die er regelmäßig auf die Bühne gebracht hat: Seine Sets sind geprägt von der Liebe zu organischen Klängen und geradezu verspielten Melodien, die bereits die ein oder andere glückselige Floor-Umarmung zu verbuchen haben. Eine Direktinjektion Serotonin pur gegen die herbstliche Trübe – wir wünschen euch viel Spaß und freuen uns, „Elias Doré“ bald wieder auf dem Dach begrüßen zu dürfen.

The tranquillity of Habitas Tulum gave me the opportunity to hunt for the peaceful tracks in my broad collection and follow flow on whatever felt good. Nalin (formerly known as Andry Nalin) became something of a legend in the 90s with marathon DJ sets and his projects Nalin & Kane and Nalin INC. His own tracks and releases from his label Superfly Records stormed the charts worldwide and he travelled the globe for many years to bring his followers into ecstasy with progressive and tribal sounds. He has always stood for a soulful and hypnotic style that incorporates elements from a variety of musical genres. During the 10s he remembered the beginning of his career and rediscovered downtempo. Since then, he has been releasing his new and somewhat slower sound on various labels and has been running the club Lucy's Sky in Düsseldorf since the end of 2018.
