Live Long & Foster - Volume I

Oh man where do I even begin....
This is my live set from my first mainstream gig in my homecity of Philadelphia supporting JVNA on 3/22/24. Whenever I've played live, I usually play upbeat house music so this was a nice change of pace to play a more melodic bass set to go with the theme of JVNA's set. I put together a set of tracks I wanted to play and started mixing on the fly, choosing tracks depending on the energy from the crowd. When finished, I ended up creating a mix that really encapsulates my whole being. I have tracks from my favorite movie (Interstellar), along with anime/video game tracks, and everything in between that really represents who I am as a person. I wanted to invoke feelings of sadness while joining me on the emotional journey of overcoming depression and emerging with newfound strength and resilience - a testament to the human capacity to endure, evolve, and ultimately thrive in the face of adversity. It's an audio visual reminder that even in our darkest moments, there is always a glimmer of hope, guiding us towards a brighter tomorrow.

For fun, I usually end all my sets with some kind of throwback. The final track Heavy with Hoping by Madeon wasn't on the idea of tracks in the first place. This track has defined me the last few years and have gotten me through some dark times. When I was getting to the end of my set the different feelings of emotions overwhelming me up to that point finally just exploded and I was like fuck it I'm playing HwH and it was the release I needed bc of its symbolism: that I fucking made it to the other side, I’m still here.

I created the artwork to show a silhouette of my future person, wherever she is and dedicate this mix to her. I've overcome a lot to get back to a point where I'm confident in myself again and ready for our paths to cross.
