One fateful weekend, AndWahn & Nuance linked up and began on what was to become the Slow Ride EP. They bounced out the base ideas for the breaks, chords and bass, and then exchanged the stems. From there the two artists diverged, elaborating on the foundations of this track individually to produce two different versions of Slow Ride.

On track #1, Nuance brings a classic jungle feeling, leaning in to the more liquid end of the spectrum. Gliding bass and subtle inflections guide the listener smoothly through the track.

On track #2, AndWahn takes things into a weirder, more psychedelic direction, while staying true to the classic jungle blueprint. The breaks roll while the distant plucks and swelling leads suck you in deeper.

Hey friends, I present to you my single VESSEL BREAK, now available on all music platforms. This track was written in early 2021, with a little rejig session done last week for its release. It blends some of my favourite things: techno doofs, RnB inspired chords, breaks, and even a sprinkle of trance in there. Big shout out to my homie Marlowe for the drum breaks recorded in my living room!

This single serves as an appetizer for you all while I finish up my next full-length project. Expect a 50/50 ratio of breakbeat and footwork coming your way in the not-too-distant future.

AndWahn, AKA Andy, is a Tamaki Makaurau-based electronic artist with a taste for big breaks, big bass, and big feels! In 2019, during a bus ride into town, an old mate sent him a YouTube link to an Omar S mix, and from there Andy’s obsession with electronic music began. He started attending the grand church of the OK Listen club night & sifting through Bandcamp, and thus was beckoned forward into the world of breakbeat, electro, jungle, and footmahi. Andy’s recent activity includes his Friendly Potential guest mix, his track “Swollen Grime” on FOOTMAHI 2022, and his colab with Nuance “Clear Blue” on Strange Behaviour’s compilation Uneasy Clubbing. For his BFC radio mix, he delivers us a selection of UKG numbers in the first half, before throwing down for the rest with strictly 160 cuts.
