This month we have something very special from Chris Fortier, who has genuinely embraced the concept of Just Add Sunshine and gone to a huge effort to produce this stunning set, featuring his own mash-ups and re-edits exclusive to this mix. We'll let you have fun track spotting before posting the full tracklist, but tracks have been carefully sourced from personal favourites from the past 25 years, with artists like 808 State, Leftfield, Bomb The Bass, The Orb, System 7 and The KLF.

Since the early 90s, Chris has been at the forefront of the US club scene, championing progressive house and paving the way for international DJs such as Sasha & Digweed, the later signing Chris up for Bedrock duties as part of the Compiled & Mixed series. Following this Chris, was one of the first names to join the mightily popular Balance mix series, providing 007.
His genius production skills cannot go unmentioned, his classic track 'Losing Wait' is way up there in the list of my all time favourites, along with THE mix of Delerium 'Silence" of course, and with his own label Fade Records (http://www.beatport.com/label/fade-records/179), Chris continues to produce the goods. Another true prog legend to join the Just Add Sunshine party!

Progressive Breaks: Classics

Thank you to Lynsday and those at Subcode radio for offering me a guest mix slot on their Lounge Session. I got to play a lot of tracks I'm quite fond of the don't normally fit into my regular sets.  I kept the tempo at a lounge friendly 118 - 120 bpm.  

This mix spans four decades of electronic music, weaving original and updated versions of tracks as far backs 1992, to the others from 2024. I labeled each track with it's original release date to show the range. It's beautiful and amazing to me that tracks from 30 years ago can still blend seamlessly with music from today.  For those old school clubbers, there is plenty of nostalgia across this set.

I have lived and loved electronic music for over 3 decades following the rise of Drum and Bass out of the rave/hardcore scene through to seeing "hard house" becoming its own genre. I was travelling up and down the country looking for the perfect "vibe" and loved every second!

Back then I was playing house/hard house and techno on vinyl and creating noise!

I believe that I am older and wiser now and have settled into the best of Organic/ Progressive, Electronica and (melodic) BreakBeat. I have a weekly show with the Underground Kollektiv (Sunday Evenings at 21:00) and this year have a number of gigs planned.

My sound is generally quite laid back with great vocals to add texture and interest.
