Jonathan Peters’ inherent passion for music and artistic expression propelled him into New York City’s dance club/nightlife scene. He reveled in the power that music had over to him and those around him. Inspired by the emotional journey that a DJ could create with sound and determined to be a part of it, Peters schooled himself in the art of DJing.

While at New York City’s Café Iguana, the then seventeen-year-old Peters convinced the club owner to allow him to fill in for an absent DJ. By the end of the night Peters the resident DJ on the spot. Quickly establishing a solid reputation for himself, Jonathan was soon spinning regularly at top New York clubs such as Limelight, Sound Factory, Pacha, Twilo, Save the Robots, Nell’s, Tunnel, and the Roxy which lead to gigs and events around the globe.

He founded Deeper Rekords which went on to become a highly influential and pioneering record label. Deeper saw steady growth with a string of highly successful releases that consistently landed on the Billboard Charts and secured his place as one of the most sought-after producers by the major labels. Peters remixed high profile artists such as Whitney Houston, Bob Marley, Donna Summer, Chaka Khan, Janet Jackson, Mary J Blige, Deborah Cox and more giving them sought after club mixes played around the globe.

Peters was a staple in the club scene with a loyal fan-base that fueled his legendary weekly event at New York City’s Sound Factory. Peters drew weekly crowds of more than 4000 revelers who for all the years of Sound Factory, immersed themselves in the all night musical journey that he created with his 12+ hour sets. After Sound Factory, his love for music continued to evolve him as he played events globally each time reinforcing and empowering the exceptional reputation of his parties and unique musical style with all of the original elements that made dance music one of the biggest scenes worldwide.
