Dum Dum Diggy (Never Let You Go) by Dionne Hickey

She has become one of the Queens of Eurovision, a massive ambassador for the contest that celebrates 50 glorious years in 2015. Nicki is asked to perform all over Europe in the run up to the event and is the main hostess at the yearly preview party in London. The BBC and Sky News regularly ask her to appear to talk about the show and give her opinions on the years hits and misses. So who better to deliver a great EP with new updates of three of the biggest Eurovision hits  and two brand new versions of her own 2000 entry "Don't Play That Song Again". Once again Nicki performs her vocal magic on these tracks which will please not just her fans but all Eurovision fans worldwide.

I ended up using 10 of the 13 samples provided...I tried to fit them all in, but was having a bit of trouble with some!

New Crobuzon(Guitar Guitar Remix Contest)

My entry for the GuitarGuitar remix contest. All sounds in this track come from mangling the samples provided, I didn't use any other sounds/ samples.

Kick and snares taken from the PO1 loop, the Electribe sampler snare was used in reverse to add punch running into a few snare hits. The high hat was chopped from the tail end of the Electribe sample snare and then pitched up a bit. The organ sound running throughout is the PO loop loaded into Abletons sampler and a single waveform from one of the wibbly wobbley (technical term) sounds gives you a pretty nice sound, then its just a case of filtering and adding a resonator too it, you'd never think a nice sound like that would be hidden in there. Bass hits are taken from the PO loop and chopped up/  re-pitched a bit. Then its just effects and chopping up into glitches after that. Fun.

I have a strong history in dance music, but I have worked on a really broad range of styles over the years, and as you will hear throughout this site, I have a fairly diverse catalogue of material, but all of it displays my key interests: get the most out of the song, get the most out of the vocals, and make it sound spectacular.
