Inspired by recent global events.
Yes, it's hip-hop. It's kicks, snares, hats, couple of loops, bassline, stabs, some effects and the first track that instead of using a sampler have done a bit of cutting and stratching 'live' and it sounds rather good I think (and more fun than a sampler).  Any true hip-hoppers will recognise the scratched bit from the opening of.........Rebel Without A Pause.

Hip Hop, kick, snare, hats, a loop, samples , two banging basslines....the usual. No scratching this time as found as cool piece of old film dialogue in my 'old film dialogue samples folder'. Hence the title,

He Must Have Skill

It's a 80bpm loop that I have just discovered is perfect to scratch to. Was actually doing a couple of plugin tutorials on this Bass Amp and 8 bit emulator synth and then thought, 'hmmm this sounds pretty good'.

Made in about an hour, gritty, nasty and pretty Dope. Not very extended (just doubled it and made the end before it loops better).

Made it last night after getting frustrated with scratching over the same old 70bpm beats.Wanted it to be more funky but as I used drum loops and not my MPC couldn't add any swing so instead messed about with it a bit. Dope Bassline (I am blowing my own trumpet there but...Dope bassline :-) Called 'Curve Ball' 'cos of the curve ball.

I'm into weird leftfield hip-hop so wanted to try something different. Not quite Shabazz Palaces yet but I like it (thank God as it took me ages to mix).  I actually wanted it to sound more sparse and it does actually but SC has a habit of removing some of the subtleties.

What's He On About?

Bass, lots of delay, tough beat, loops beautifully, I like this one and done in record time. Went a bit Lee Scratch Perry...maybe it's my South London roots coming through.  Getting the hang of this I reckon

Just a 16 bar loop from Ready...Ready....Go before I do some work on the original and make it into a track and maybe experiment with a more dub/hip-hop beat and much more mad delay and reverb etc. 85bpm and has been tested just now and gets the scratch-ability thumbs up.
