I sure did, me. I don't regret it but it was painful.
I think it's about time to let this go though, so I'll let everyone see it now.

I’ve been down to the riverbed
The morning’s fog stuck in my head
Newscasts spinning from left to right
And all I want is to sleep well at night

Where children play and cars are towed
To a building which stands wider than most
Where I get my paycheck and feed myself

Dried up for now til the sky is sad

The doors to this old house

I came home from work hungover today
Though I hadn't drank a drop in a week

And the new air stings fresh
But at last, I feel renewed and sober

Now the wind howls low
As the sun sinks out of sight
Winking back a few times
As a warning of falling night
And I'm packing my clothes
Getting ready to run
I catch my old mother's eyes pleading

Then I turn and walk out that open door

That will now soon strike midnight
