The unreliable narrative of Spaceman D. Bassman continues...

As the sun falls gently towards the horizon, a lone figure casually lounges in a deck chair, the fiery sky reflected in his visor. In his hands he holds a large glass of his favourite cocktail, Sex on the Beach.

Lieutenant Spaceman D. Bassman had been through a lot lately. After almost 23 months marooned on an alien planet populated by those weird musical bees, his oxygen, water and food supplies were at dangerously low levels. Things were so desperate that he'd taken to supplementing his diet with several particularly fat and juicy bees with each meal. They tasted disgusting, but he loved them nonetheless.

After months of despair and having given up any hope of being rescued, somewhat miraculously, the Corp finally located his emergency beacon and saved him from an inevitable and very likely nasty, bee-poisoning related death. He was lucky, and thankful to be alive.

With his gums still raw and nippy from the bee stings, Bassman, now safely back on Terra, took a long swig from his glass, settled back in the chair, and put another cassette in his Cosmosblaster.

While the sun continued it's decent across sky, the heavy throb of psychedelic space dub and beesong filled the air once more. Bassman sighed a long sigh of relief and wiped a tear from his eye; He really loved those weird musical alien bees.

Hex on the Beach

Looking ahead to 2024... it starts dark, we have a moment of light relief to preserve mental health, then get serious again.  The summer comes, there is strength and a triumphant sense of relief.  Then a brief moment of chaos as the election comes and goes.  Finally it's back to the comfort of hope for the future, and we settle down with an easy, comfortable play out to the year.

This instrument is an emulation of a very famous and rare ARP2600 semi-modular synthesizer from the 70's. It allows the creation of some very interesting and complex sounds, mostly inspired by retro sci-fi movies and electronic music of the era.
